Hello Men:
So after a week-end barrage of Jewelry comercials,Vermont Bears, Restaraunt's, Hotel and Travel comercials I am Pucking all over!!(like the guy on Crank Yankers) I know some of you including but not limited to: Losers, Roman God Types(Being fed grapes by 2 beautiful women) Tech Geeks, Cheap-skates, The Jaded like me, cynicics, etc.) Won't spend a dime. So how much is V day gonna cost You? And for What? (jewelry, Diamonds, Dining, etc) |
ok I go first.
$63.00 just got off phone with FTD dozen roses delivered to wife's office |
"If your man loves you, he'd buy you expensive jewelry. If you're not getting something expensive for valentine's day, maybe you should start looking for a man who will buy you things!"
The funniest tie-ins for valentine's day I've heard this year were: 1. Tanning salon: "Getting a tan for valentines day??" WHY???? 2. Puppy store. "This puppy is the best valentines day gift I could have received!!!" |
I'm cooking dinner for her.....about $10 worth of food
Box of chocolate things she likes...$9 DVD she strongly hinted at me to get for Vday..$15 Some fake roses(she is allergic to real ones) ..$10 Card....$3 Gas to get up early and go leave the flowers at her doorstep..$4 I know I am getting 3 very nice shirts that cost her $33 |
$14 for 2 dozen roses at Sam'sClub.
Bought them last Friday and they still look fine. (friday before last I bought 2 doz for the same price, which lasted a week before droopin so since the 3rd of Feb, my sweetie has been oohing and ahhhhing over her flowers all at a total cost of $28) YMMV, but I'd sooner shoot the bastard attempting to rape me over the V-Day cost of a few roses, than pay'em..... A couple dozen chocolate covered strawberries in an arrangement from Edible Arrangements. About $55 out the door and she'll be pissed I spent that much.
I have it very easy for Valentines Day. No girlfriend = more money for ammo.

These Scum around Tampa set-up like Those roadside Fireworks stands $99.00 per Dozen!! Makes me want to do a Dive-by lol |
I don't celebrate it at all. Church pulled the feast day in '69, so there's nothing to celebrate for me.
I don't do Hallmark Holidays. "Buy stuff becuase we want you to buy our stuff!" Blech. |
Haven't had a female to leech off for Valentine's Day yet.
I still don't get how a Roman teacher who got executed and had a student write him a letter started a crass commercial holiday around Hollywood romance. |
We went to a formal dinner Saturday night. Cost was about $80. Other than cards, we agreed that that would be our celebration for this holiday.
For my wife and daughter, between the jewelry, cards, dinner and whatnot, it'll set me back $300.
They're worth it. HH |
I made 50 cents!
We're having a singles/we hate V-day party with a $5 white elephant gift. Bought a Chipotle gift card for $5 and they had a promo going on where you can bring the receipt back for a free burrito ($5.50), which I'll be cashing in tonight. |
$0 so far..
My gf made the idea that we wouldnt buy anything for each other this holiday, but instead we may go out to dinner and pay for each others meals... Of course I said sure I got off EASY |
My wife fobids the purchase of 50.00 a dozen roses on valentines. That said she does request that the same 50.00 is spread out through the year on roses. No Jewlery either, "They jack up the prices for valentines day".
2 doz roses and a card purchased last sat.
Gave her 1 doz sat. night and the others in the refig outside for tomorrow. 24.59 I spend more on lunch somedays. |
$17 for 30-pack
$10 polaroid film getting her sister drunk and taking nude photos to avoid buying a valentine's day gift: priceless |
Won't cost me a dime.
But I probably won't be having pie for dinner, either ...... |
She doesn't expect you to watch it with her, does she? I know the kind of movies my girl likes are a tax on my sanity that can't be measured in monetary value.he Even if she tells you she doesn't want anything for Valentines day, you should get her a bouquet anyway and send it into her place of work so she will feel appreciated in front of her girlfriends. Trust me, speaking from experience, it works wonders. She won't be able to wait to pay you back. hty.gif |

It's the latest Zorro movie. We saw it together and we both liked it. So if she expects me to watch it with her again that would be fine with me. I don't mind at all looking at Cathrine Zeta-Jones for a couple hours. |

When is Valentine's Day anyway... I gotta get my wife something.

The usual $3.99 for a card and a rose from the front yard. Oh yeah, I also write her a love poem every year... after 16 years I'm getting pretty good at it. I'll also make breakfast for her in the morning.

Ah, the famous "contrived" holiday, as I refer to it. My wife agrees. Will not cost me a dime.

I think its neat you guys are buying your honey's something special. Things have been hectic around my house so it won't be too romantic but I'm making my husband BBQ steaks and shrimp [his request], toss salad, home made rolls and pie for desert.
No gifts. |
I'll split the cost with you, if I can use them next. |
If I see this ad one more time I'm gonna put a round through my TV
The pressure is on to blow her mind with a great gift |

About $50 total.
$35 flowers for my mom $15 flowers/candy for my 3 nieces |

$70 plus tax for severed vegetable reproductive organs and whatever it costs for some decent chocolate.
The sad part? Pie is not in this equation |

My wife worked at a florist's for several years and saw the light...
