I was under the impression that Half-Life 2 would come out for PC earlier this fall, and then the company says it's going to be out before the holidays...

Now the holidays are almost upon us, and STILL NO SIGN of Half-Life 2!

Do any of you guys know what's up with this game?

Some of the Source code got leaked.

That and Release dates dont mean jack in the computer world anyway. my prime example Duke Nukem forever.  When its done is when its done.

not that it'll help for hl2, but this (http://www.gonegold.com) is usu. a good site for that stuff.  listen to cyrax, tho - when it's out, it's out.  i used to go to gonegold and a bunch of other sites way too often to see when games i was interested in were coming out.  wait forever, then be disappointed.

now i just wait until i see 'em in the stores or otherwise hear they're released.  don't try to understand the computer games industry unless you're working on an ms in economics (specializing in game theory) or an mba.

Valve is doing the same damned thing they did with the original Halflife.

Here comes a release date.....there goes a release date.......oops.  rinse.  repeat.

IIRC, they did that for more than a year and a half.

It'll be done when its done.

... and when it's done it'll still be buggy as hell.

Very true about it being buggy.

Obvously their idea of "done" isn't the same as the rest of ours.

There's a sign in the office here that says "good enough is neither"  -- I think a LOT of the software companies could use a sign like that.

Until it is done, you can always appease your trigger finger with CS:CZ (Counter Strike: Condition Zero).  Sposta come out before or after Christmas (which year, anybody's guess, lol).  It is basically Counter Strike 2, with an "engaging" (ROFLMFAO) single-player element.

Oh yeah, and the official Valve CS bot.  So you can play multiplayer even when no one's online.

Best of luck... for us all!

Now about that sign, FotBR.... [:)]

Reminds me of sumthin' my grandpa used to say: "Anything worth doing half ass... ain't worth doing."  Or something like that.  Moral of the story was the same, though.

LOL, that sign is near a stupid computer-paper-banner with "The Beatings WILL Continue Until Morale Improves" on it.

Now, this is all in a college yearbook office, so that might account for some of the bad sense of humour displayed.  Either way....

I'll have to print the Anything worth doing half ass... ain't worth doing." bit off and hang it up the next time I'm in there.  [:D]

Close Kar98, but not quite [:D]

The stuff in the office has been up for years.....much longer than those posters have been around.

(I do like the one for Failure, though)
