Bought one of these 40 watt Coleman solar panels off ebay.



No power coming out of it, never had this problem before.

Had to open up the control box on the back, dig out all the white caulk they use to waterproof the box, and figure out the negative side connector from the back to the front had no connection.

I suck at soldering, but got a big enough glob of solder to run down into the hole connecting the front to the back and get a connection.

Now it is happily charging a 12 Ah battery on the driveway.

Pretty proud of myself fixing an issue like this myself, only took 30 minutes or so.

Better than being one of these types

Good, at least you didn't have to send it back.  That might have been the better play, but it can be a hassle.

Seller was in Canada, I would have either fixed it or thrown it away, not worth the hassle to send back.
