Took a driving tour with a friend yesterday...

Left to right - Ferarri F430, Audi R8, Lamborghini Gallardo, Maserati Quattroporte. Got to drive each of them My two favorites were the F430 and the Gallardo.

I've been looking at buying a Gallardo, but after the F430, I'm not so sure. The one thing that stood out was how effortless the F430 took corners and how connected you felt with the road. And the noise - by far the best sounding machine of the day. We did get to do some spirited driving on back county roads, but that was cut short...

ETA - I was completely comfortable with a Glock 19 in the holster at 3 o'clock in all of these cars It was also the first time I have been pulled over since getting my CHL a few years back - at first the officer was a bit confused why I handed him 3 things instead of 2

Which one was the fastest?

Well - didn't get to top them out by any means, but both the Gallardo and the F430 had the most visceral punch.

Bump for those who appreciate things like this. Those are gorgeous machines.

One day I'll have to do one of those driving tours.

Someday I'll own a Ferarri or a Lambo, someday...

I love the 430. By far my favorite Ferarri.

The 458 is pretty sexy too.

Saw a red one the other day driving around in Scottsdale.

I still want a countach after seeing and hearing it in cannon ball run.

Fuck dude, $200K+ for the F430, would you have to order one to your likes/preferences or just get one already here?

Don't forget to take a look at Ferrari's maintenance schedule.

I also take it you're not into Porsche if you're looking at a Lambo and Ferrari.

I'm partial to the quattroporte myself, partially b/c its the only one I have any experience with. Thank God for drunk rich friends!

Actually, they were all paddle shifted. I can see the reason why as it opens up your customer base (all of the cars can go to full automatic). To be honest, the driver side front wheel well comes to far into the cab, you wouldn't have anywhere to rest your foot when it's off the clutch.

Looking at the used market for either of the cars - still going to pay a price premium for the F430, but I'll let someone else take the depreciation hit.

You're right - not much of a Porsche fan. I'm sure they are wonderful cars, but just not what I'm looking for

Your thread title "a bit of fun" sounds like an understatement. I would still have a shit eating grin on my face if I got to drive those vehicles.

ETA: OP, is that central Texas?

Yeah, a bit of understatment - had a hell of a good time! The only downside is that I'm now leaning more towards a 430, but I've always wanted a Lamborghini...

The tour was outside of Ft. Worth (southwest towards Granbury).

Oh, and as far as adopting - I've made it this far in life without kids, I don't think I'm about to change
