I have the H-S triggerguard and magazine, but no OEM Remington magazines to compare it to. However, due to the differences in latching systems, I’d think the magazines are incompatible.

They are not compatible, and the Remington mags suck ass anyway. Stick with the H-S stuff and you'll be fine.
