So, I got a 14.5 inch barrel with a Mini Y comp muzzle break and was wondering if wanted to change it out to a flash hider, after 9/04 of course, is the A2 bird cage flash hider at least  1.5 inches long to bring the barrel to the legal 16 inches?

Just how long is that A2 flash hider?!??!!!???

I was wondering the same thing.  I have a Bushmaster with the mini y comp.  I was told that it would destroy the barrel if it was removed.  Is that true?

an A2 won't get you to 16" bbl length, you need a phantom

Don't forget it needs to be permanently attached.

It's easy to forget that it's not the OAL of the flash suppressor, it's how much it extends the barrel.  The OAL of the A2 suppressor is about 1 3/4 inches, but since it screws down, it only extends a little over 1 inch beyond the end of the barrel.
