EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (ORDNANCE)

MAJOR DUTIES:
Top
Incumbent serves as Equipment Specialist (Ordnance) providing direct support and organizational maintenance including building, rebuilding, fine tuning, accurizing, and testing all competitive weapons systems including Anschutz, Styer, Walther, Toz, Feinwerkbrau, Bleiker and Perrazzi. Performs maintenance on target systems including Sius Ascor, Spieth and Matterelli. Sets up and operates precision measuring and recording instruments and devices to measure small arm projectile velocities including universal receiver, pressure test barrels, transducers, chronograph and Sius Ascor ammunition testing software. Fabricates special tools, fixtures, and custom fits special weapons parts by using Computer Numeric Control and manual milling machines and laythes, drill presses and surface grinders. Uses Inert Gas welding in order to execute the firearms repair and target maintenance. Instructs on proper cleaning, lubrication and adjustments to small arms.

About the Position: This position is located at United States Army Marksmanship Unit, Unit Headquarters, Custom Firearms, Fort Benning, Georgia. "The Home of the Infantry", Fort Benning is located 100 miles south of Atlanta and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama. The geography and climate are ideal for year-round military training. Public transportation and adequate parking is available.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: Candidates must demonstrate experience, in their resume, preparing and maintaining weapons used in National and International competitions. In addition, incumbent must pass a test to demonstrate knowledge of weapons and target maintenance. Referred applicants will be contacted by the selecting official to arrange testing.

The shitty part is, while I could do almost all of it, I can't back it up with a resume, since all my experience is hobby-related.

It was a GS-09.  At that level they usually don't pay relocation expenses.
