I know a guy who just dumped 400+ on the bench and tore his whole pec clean off. I wonder if its a liability issue if someone gets hurt due to someone else's stupidity. (not the guy benching of course, just if there were an innocent bystander)

and no ive never seen it required, just a "no chalk allowed" EVERYWHERE

I only use collars on deads n oly lifts so the plates don't fucking move.

Fuckinn jingling plates...

Why use collars anywhere else?

The gym at the state university where I sometimes work out mandates collars and is pretty strict about it. There is a sign at every bench and every rack. This is probably due to the nature of college students and the wide range of experience of potential users.
