Not that surprising. Many gun shop employees are accidents waiting to happen.

He should face criminal charges.

Fuck charges. Just let the customer shoot Captain Dumbass.

It's like we used to do on the playground. Douchebag throws a punch, he has to stand there and take one.
Link Posted: 11/21/2012 3:25:59 AM EST
But it's way more gansta to hold the gun sideways and pointing up to eject the round! That's what they always do in the movies, right? How else would you see if flying out and then catch it real fast and cool-like? Oh, and you probably don't even need to drop the magazine first before clearing a weapon, cause you know, you just don't....
Link Posted: 11/21/2012 3:26:24 AM EST
idiot

Link Posted: 11/21/2012 3:26:59 AM EST
Maybe he was sniping an offer at the gun counter.
Link Posted: 11/21/2012 3:30:37 AM EST
Finger off the trigger, point in safe direction......

wait what?

They too cheap to spring for one of those countertop clearing barrels? Those things work. A guy on night shift at work accidentally tested it out.

I would definitely have some kind of safe backstop, especially if I worked in a store that dealt at all with used firearms. No telling what mechanical condition a used gun coming in for trade or repair is in.

Probably asked where the clips were!
Link Posted: 11/21/2012 3:51:40 AM EST
Someone should build a gun that dosent just go off. Fucking things are dangerous.
Link Posted: 11/21/2012 3:52:08 AM EST
Who wants to bet it was a customer's gun that the employee didn't know was hot? Not that it excuses him at all.

One of the big reasons I don't miss working behind the gun counter is having mouth breathing idiots bring in loaded guns and point them at me.
Link Posted: 11/21/2012 3:52:44 AM EST
Why would someone be unloading a gun in the store? Lemme guess. Some dumbshit wanted to show off his conceal carry 1911 and BOOM! Hope the customer is okay and sues that gun store out of business.

Why is the customer not dead ?

So I take it that standard protocol for unloading guns at that shop involve pulling the trigger as step 1...
Link Posted: 11/21/2012 4:03:42 AM EST
Walked in as a customer, carried out as a millionare. Guns and driving cars, always gotta watch out for the "other guy".

Authorities say an employee at a New Mexico gun shop was unloading a handgun when he accidentally negligently shot a customer in the back, wounding him.

The Las Cruses Sun-News reports the 65-year-old customer was airlifted from Silver City to a Texas hospital, where he is listed in stable condition and soon to be wealthy.

Silver City Police Chief Ed Reynolds says an employee at Copper County Sporting Arms was unloading a .45 caliber handgun Tuesday when the weapon went off the dumbass pointed the gun at the customers back and dropped the hammer before removing the ammunition, shooting the man in the back.

Emergency responders closed off the street in front of the shop so a medical helicopter could land. The helicopter then flew the man to an El Paso, Texas, hospital for treatment.

Reynolds says the investigation is ongoing, and it's unclear whether any charges will be filed. No names have been released, however the injured man was heard to scream "ka-ching" as he was carried out.

A person who answered the phone Tuesday at Copper Country declined to talk to the Sun-News and is now worried about their income.

When you keep your fucking finger off the fucking trigger you don't need a barrel.

Link Posted: 11/21/2012 5:13:02 AM EST
Guns are just too dangerous.

Shit like this is why I'm switching over to a strictly Nerf and airsoft arsenal. Plus ammo is cheap.
Link Posted: 11/21/2012 5:18:03 AM EST

I guess the victim now owns that gun shop.
Link Posted: 11/21/2012 5:21:23 AM EST
I was just wondering what the victim is going to name his new gun shop. And who he is firing first.

I lost count of the hundreds of times I have witnessed muzzle sweeping in gun stores ( both customers and gun store employees guilty of this )

Makes me very uneasy - always has and always will. This is the end result.

Guns should NEVER be pointed at anyone unless your intent is to kill them.

External hammer
+
Greasy burger thumb or Sweaty fatass thumb
+
Lemme just de-cock this
+
Turn around a sec, I don't want you to see my tactical de-cocking trick
+
I like how this laser grip points so nice, look at it light up your shirt

I don't know what happened officer, it just went off.

In the gun store employee's defense, you can only hear "I can get this cheaper on the internet" so many times....

Sure lost that sale.
