A good book is Guns of the South by Harry Turtledove. It is a what if about the south and AK47's.

I just recently read Stephen Hunter's Hot Springs which was quite good. Good enough to make me go out and get Point of Impact which was also excellent. If you haven't read it, get John Ross's Unintended Consequences (edited to add)I also agree w/M15A2 Guns of the South is an excellent read.

I'll second that. Anything by Turtledove is good. He does true 'revisionist' history. I love those 'what if' books. Kind of like 'Unintended Consequences LIGHT'. Stephen Hunter is also good. CB
