"Code 4! Code 4!"
I do note that the judge sure didn't waste any time in abandoning her courtroom. |
Good old mom - the classic co-dependant.
I was hoping for some Tazer goodness. |
Well, contrary to the judge's statement, he DID disrupt her decision. For what it is worth.

UPDATE- I found this :
lvcourtsblog.com/2006/12/15/family-court-bailiffs-responded-%e2%80%9cprofessionally-and-admirably%e2%80%9d/
Heres some of the charges:
I'm not sure of the background, the judge discusses him not having his firearms secured with children in the house. Then the baliff puts his hand on him and it goes downhill from that point. |

Yeah well she started it! |
If I recall correctly, the background was that their young son got ahold of an unsecured firearm and shot himself or another child.
I had a email with the orginal news story, but don't have it anymore. I'll try to find it. |
Notice that the little midget blonde cop comes running in at the end, wonder is she was hoping to be able to bite his ankles.

here is a news story from the AP:
Nevada Man Arrested for Courtroom Fight The Associated Press December 15, 2006 In my six years on the bench, I've never had this happen. A Nevada man whose son used an unsecured shotgun to commit suicide in 2005 was wrestled to a courtroom floor and arrested after throwing punches at uniformed court officers during a videotaped divorce proceeding. Geoffrey Wells, 36, of Henderson, was being held Friday at the Clark County jail in Las Vegas pending a court appearance Monday on four felony charges of battery on a police officer. Four Clark County Family Court bailiffs were treated for minor injuries at University Medical Center in Las Vegas after the Thursday altercation, authorities said. The presiding judge of the court issued a statement Friday praising the officers and promising to use the video as a training tool. 'It shows how quickly a situation can get out of hand and how quickly a court must respond to ensure it doesn't spill out into the hallway,' Judge T. Arthur Ritchie said. Judge Cheryl Moss left the bench while at least nine bailiffs swarmed Wells, handcuffed him and led him from the courtroom. Moss returned to the bench to finish issuing a temporary protection order preventing Wells from having contact with his wife and children. 'I'm not happy about what happened here in the courtroom,' Moss said in comments reported Friday by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. 'In my six years on the bench, I've never had this happen.' Moss called Wells' ongoing anger toward his wife 'very disturbing to the court,' and noted that he had attended anger management classes. Wells' lawyer, Gerard Bongiovanni, declined comment. Wells was sentenced to three years' probation after pleading guilty in November 2005 to a child endangerment charge in the death of his 12-year-old son, Syber Wells. Authorities charged Wells with leaving his three boys home alone with guns in the house during a bitter custody battle with his wife, Maria Wells. Maria Wells testified Thursday that Syber told his brothers, then ages 10 and 8, that he planned to kill himself so they wouldn't have to see their father again. A video of the court proceeding shows the judge becoming agitated as the judge tells Wells to remain quiet and reminds him that she had ordered him before the suicide to lock up his guns. 'I'm getting screwed, and I'm supposed to sit here and take it,' Wells shouted before throwing punches at bailiffs. http://www.topix.net/content/ap/1449954680283355164915029323503377939509?threadid=CH27TDPV2PJ0502V |

Well when someone strips you of your rights you tend to get mad.
Im shure after loosing my son and then being scolded by some judge id be pretty pissed to.
Good, that is what the judge is suppose to do. |
So one of his 12 year old kid shoots himself, and they go after him for
child endangerment? WTF? When I was 12 I had my own firearms. |
shit when I was ten I bought a 12 gauge and that was only 8 years ago |
If I had been the judge, I would have been extremely sure to wait until the guy was sufficently well hog-tied, and then taken great pleasure in saying,
"If you had remained calm and quiet, you would have been pleased to hear that I was planning on LETTING YOU OFF. But that's history now, dumbass. You're getting a raft of additional charges filed on you now. You screwed yourself and you'll have plenty of time to think about your monumental stupidity, you idiot." Well, something like that, anyway. And then I'd order him held without bail on multiple charges of battery on an LEO, disturbing the peace, and whatever else could be thrown at him with a reasonable chance of making it stick. A hothead like him probably doesn't do us other gun owners any good anyway. It's a bad example and frankly I don't think he should be allowed to own guns with a temper like that. CJ |
Yeah, he definatly screwed up there, but I can't say that I'm without sympathy. Sounds like a BS charge but I'm really not familiar with the case.
FWIW, my Dads guns were never secured or locked up when we were kids either. -K |
What an absolute PRICK! This guy needs to be taken out and have the everliving motherfucking SHIT stomped out of him until he is just a stain in the asphalt. He is such a fucking monster of a father that his 12 yo son kills himself rather than see him again using an unsecured shotgun he left with the boys alone - AFTER the judge ordered him lock up his guns... and yet he thinks HE'S getting screwed!??? Fuck it man - this guy needs his face caved in with a cinderblock. |
Well OBVIOUSLY the judge knew something that YOU didn't because the 12 yo kid DID end up killing himself using his father's unsecured guns AFTER the judge ordered him to simply lock up his guns. |
No - he didn't simply "loose" his son. He was ORDERED to follow simple gun-safety rules like locking up your guns around kids and yet this ASSHOLE decides his 12, 10 and 8 yo boys (who were probably living in hell with him as father) are "men enough" to handle being left alone with unsecured guns in the house. OBVIOUSLY the judge didn't just pick him up off the street and order him to secure his guns - there's probably a long and violent history with this PRICKHOLE and the judge (OBVIOUSLY) had very good reason to think unsecured guns in HIS house with HIS kids were too dangerous - and she was proven right one dead kid later. so she ordered exactly what any gunowner in America with small kids should ALREADY be doing. Simple gun-safety. But did this FUCKSTAIN of a father give a shit about the safety of his boys? Not a fucking chance of that. And now one is dead that the other two are probably psychologically scarred for life. So I don't give a flying FUCK about this ASSHOLE if he's a little pissed. He should be a little pink stain on the tile for all I care. |

What did you expect them to do? A child is injured/dead through his actions or the environment he as an adult allowed to exist. |
OC sux, but easy to work through. Taser SUX ASS I'd rather be OC'd than Tased preferably, its less painful :( Just got certified to use the Taser |

+1 to both. It's hard to say without knowing more. Who-T-F are you to tell me how I must keep my private property in my home? I must be totally defenseless when I'm tending my children? WTF do you think I bought firearms FOR? While I'm grieving my child some asshole DA comes after me criminally? I have to defend myself? At the same time, Macallan is right. The judge obviously knew a few things when the court order was issued. I can't imagine a twelve year old boy arriving at the conclusion that he should sacrifice himself in order to save his younger brothers from his father. THAT's fucked up. Something was definitely wrong in that household. I could almost say that neglegence charges should be filed against whatever family court was involved for not interveneing earlier, but I wouldn't want to set the presedent that they should err on the side of ripping apart families as a CYA tactic. All the same, I bet the judge that didn't want to be overly harsh on a family is having nightmares now that the 12 year old ate a shotgun. I can't say enough how truly fucked up that is. Aside from all that, I don't think he was that far out of line for voicing himself, and the deputy was inching up on him with every word; adding tension to the situation. He would have been better off being humble, but so would everyone else have. I was surprised at how well he fared against the first two deputies. I imagine there was a fair shock factor for them. Compacency. "When a boys mama dies, he gets rabbit in his blood." When a man's son dies in a tramamtic way, it doesn't take much to push him over the edge. Bad stuff all the way around. I don't see any righteous angle where anyone can be vindictive about it. Too bad. |
Where did you hear that he was previously ordered to lock up his guns? Have you got more details than what we're seeing? |
Yeah, I tend to agree. If he was lawfully ordered to lock them up for a legitimate reason. |
According to the article quoted: "A video of the court proceeding shows the judge becoming agitated as the judge tells Wells to remain quiet and reminds him that she had ordered him before the suicide to lock up his guns." |

I've been told that's much preferred by the security personnel - one less BIG principal to try to protect. |
