I am looking for a semi automatic rifle for Hog Hunting, I don't want to use a handgun so what do you suggest assuming the minimal caliber I'm looking for is 7.62, and the price range is rather low, $100-$500, your thoughts, your suggestions. Thanks

Keep saving, when you get around $1000, then look for a quality rifle, don't buy junk.

DITTO the SKS! It's a cheap, & unbelievably, rugged, reliable, & versatile rifle that'll do whatever needs doing.

the fal is around 5-6 and all the way up to 1000. the higher you go, the better the weapon. i hear an acepptabe fal is avaliable for around 6. also, maybe you should go arkansas style and go with a 10/22.

i should have added. DSA is a good fal, but thats more pricey. you can do a search on gunbroker. you want one on an imbel receiver. mags are cheap too

Buy an SKS. They last for ever and you can get some cool goodies on them but most of all they never cost very much.
