After the last few posts about 4473 records and Nics, Brady etc...

I would just like to remind everyone about the following site.  www.the56.com

It is hardly being used!  Start listing your guns!

Lets start using this for our instate sales.  Spread the word.

I don't understand why this site hasn't taken off?

Come on guys, we can sit here and gripe about the Brady garbage and send gun after gun to a friggin dealer or we can support this site!

Anyone know if private party sales are legal in California? I would LIVE on this site if it were.

Troy and Radioman,  The only legal private party sales in California that don't have to go through a dealer are curio and relic rifles and shotguns over 50 years old.

Troy,
I am positive.  Section 12078(t)(2) of the Dangerous Weapons Control Law Reads: "Subdivision (d) of Section 12072 (This is the part of the law that requires transfers to go through a dealer.) shall not apply to the infrequent sale, loan, or transfer of a firearm that is not a pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person, which is a curio or relic manufactured at least 50 years prior to the current date, but not including replicas thereof, a defined in Section 178.11 of Title 27 of the Code of Federal Regulations."
