Marshall JMP1 into a Boss rack effects processor in to a Carvin 100 watt tube amp with 4 el34 tubes.

Guitar is a 1980 Ibanez Artist with Duncan pickups front and back. Love the thing, best guitar in the world. My band mate was put off by the weight of it but then grew to love it so much he went out and got one of his own.

Damn, I bet that sounds like 10,000 angry kittens. In a good way.

So, we've got two guitar half stacks... a drum kit... and a bass full stack.

Sounds like a band.

Hey Ratters!!

My FIRST band I was ever in, the guitarist had an Ibanez Artist (circa 1982) and YES you are 100% correct. I could not BELIEVE the action on this guitar was so low it was like butter. He has purchased a Carvin guitar, a Les Paul and even had a custom one built and to this day STILL plays that Artist most of the time.

Yeah, the other guitarist in the band had a Mesa Dual Rectifier that had this creamy thick sound where mine was much more crunchy punchy. They actually blended together rather well. The Duncans made a pretty big difference too. Great pickups and I got them straight from the factory which is in Santa Barbara where I did the band thing.

Dr. Fridge- Yeah, the artist kicks ass. Actually bought mine as a pair with my sister for 600 bucks. Her's looks really cool with a brown curly maple top. I bought two other guitars after this one and ended up getting rid of them cause non were better. I love the heavy weight of it, feels so planted. Plus it's one of the coolest looking guitars ever made.

Sad thing is I hardly ever play anymore. So many other time constraints and this damned internets thing.

Mine is a 1989 Gibson SG Custom Elite thru a 1973 Fender Super Reverb. No effects needed except for a cry baby once and a while. Remember folks, feedback is your friend!

Threw in my G21 for added measure.

On the other end of the music spectrum, Ive got a '52 re-issue tele' with a parsons/white b-bender.. My pops is using it at his studio though...

jackson kelly ke3r (marty friedman signature)
line6 flextone II amp with floorpanel

one day when i stop spending all my money on cars and guns i would like to get an ibanez jem, a cab for the line6, and maybe a digitech 2120 rack unit.

Seems like I participated in this thread a few weeks ago but I'm always happy to show off... No half stacks here but here's what my wife and I have. She's getting back into playing after about 10 years off. She found it dificult to find time when the kids were small.

Wifes axe, Peavey Nitro along with my Seymore Duncan 84-40 amp.

My Peavey Falcon and my first amp Peavey Backstage 110.

The acustic collection Fender and Yamaha.

The newest acquisition Godin Exit 22.

Playing in the band circa 1990.

Currently I'm working on building a Hi-Octane as found on AX84.com. If successful, I'll post the results when completed.

NO DIGITECH! Their products sound horrible, just thin and tinny. Go with Boss, TC, or even Line6, but stay away from Digitech.

Line6 makes good stuff, but you really might want to think about a tube amp when you got the money. Whole different world of volume and sound from any solid state.

+1 for Tube.
My brother has a Mesa Dual Rectifier 100W.
It is the best amp we have ever heard short
of a custom built amp.

I completely agree! I never play though my Peavey Backstage 110 (solid state) unless I'm playing with my wife. Then I use the effects sitting on the amp to create a sound I can live with. The Seymour Duncan 84-40 tube amp sounds so much better. I never use effects when I play though it except for songs that require effects such as flanging in Hearts Baracuda. The only problem I've got is: it's so loud even at "only" 40 watts power. I'm only using distorsion generated in the preamp. Thus the impetus for building the AX84.com High-Octane project. same distortion at only 5-7 watts of output power. Or about half as loud as a 50 watt output amp. (Sound pressure level or apparent volume is not linear to power output.) So hopefully I will be able to overdrive the power amp section too w/o making my ears bleed.
