Here is some food for thought...........

Person #1 (Walks in on Person #2 in his "home", he is digging through personal effects):  "What are you doing??"

Person #2:  "I must oversee the welfare of the people"

Person #1:  "By invading my privacy!!"

Person #2:  "The government is not concerned with issues of privacy.  It is contrary to the common good."

I am paraphrasing a bit, but the meaning is exact.
