Not really.  The knuckleheads at the Red Cross told me they couldn't use my blood because I spent time in Europe in the 80's.  I've been "indefinitely deferred."

I've given at least a couple gallons of blood since I went on those Med cruises.  It seems that they tightened the rules in the last few months.  

I was on a ship and spent about 9 months cruising the beautiful Med.  I'm pretty sure we brought all our meat from the States.
