I just thought I would share an idea for an “urban camouflaged” case that fits 20’in bbl scoped ARs perfectly.  Basically, this is just a padded Fender guitar bag stuffed with a custom cut closed cell foam pad:

The case comes complete with 2 carry handles and a shoulder strap:

The entire rifle with scope mounted fits flush in the foam with plenty of padding all the way around:

Cost on this case with all materials is about 50 bucks.  I picked up the bag from Mars music for $30.  The foam is made from 2 closed cell foam camping mats purchased from Target for $10 each.  However, any closed cell foam would work well.  I cut the foam with a rotary fabric cutter on a mat.  From there, I used a dremmel for detailed parts and trimming.

Any way, here is just one more idea for those seeking discrete transport to and from the range. Of course, you could further decorate this case with Dead Head, “Love not war”, “Mean People Suck”, or any other hippie swag to further enhance the cammo [@:D]

I wouldn't want mine to say Fender tho, I'd use my GIBSON gig bag!

Good job Midian....Strangely enough, when one of our daughters saw me taking my AR from a 30-inch toolbox and re-assembling it she said, "You ought to use my guitar bag, it would save you a lot of time"...it would look even less conspicuous here in Nashville...I'm off to the store..
