Good post. I was really looking forward to this pistol but I'm disappointed with the mag capacity. Maybe I'll change my mind if I get to handle one but for now I will stick with my 26 for CC.

Thanks for taking the time. I would really like to see some comparison pics with a Glock 26, asi may consider trading out for one if it is decently thinner.

Kinda looks like it "Points" more than normal Glocks maybe that's just an illusion caused by the lack of finger grooves, or my tired eyes.

I got an email this morning, my 43 should be at my FFL's tomorrow.

Im not a 43 owner but looking at the pics you posted I think I am giving up very little and gaining a ton by staying with the 19. I love my wifes 42 but something about the maga capacity and handling that I cant get over

I am afraid if I am going to trade off that much ammo, I am going to carry my Glock 36.

Meh
I would of bought one over a Shield years ago. But I bought a Shield and love it. After the Shield, I bought a Pro and loved it. Now the only Glock I own is a G19 and I haven't sold that because I have $500 worth of holsters and mags for it. |
|
I'm on the waitlist, but I'm still undecided as to whether or not I'll buy one.
I'm already so heavily invested in the Shield with sights, trigger kit, mags, and a holster set-up(s). Still, we'll see. The Shield has a certain finesse to it; the Glock can go in the mud for all I care. |

How thick is the 43 slide compared to a 19 slide, measurement wise?

I'm not sure why mag cap is being referenced as a deficiency since 43s are a magazine fed firearm and that is easily addressed by the aftermarket. It looks like a nice and tidy package.

Because the capacity of the Shield is the 'correct' capacity? A +1 extension can always be added to the G43 and make it the same height as a Shield but a Shield can never be made as short as a G43. Nearly identical in size. Barrel on the 43 is a bit longer, but the grip is a bit shorter with the standard magazine. This photo obviously includes the finger extension. http://oi58.tinypic.com/9qwbgi.jpg Glock 43 top with flush mag, Shield on bottom. Very minimal difference in grip. http://oi57.tinypic.com/aaizb5.jpg Glock 43 on top, Glock 19 on bottom http://oi62.tinypic.com/op78qp.jpg Glock 43 on top with flush mag, Glock 19 bottom. http://oi62.tinypic.com/2cibvq1.jpg This photo gives you an idea of the height differences between the 43 and 19. The Glock 19 is only a bit taller compared to the 43 with the finger extension. Overall, I really love the feel of the 43. While it only holds six rounds, I love the snappiness of the trigger, and the overall comfort of the gun. View Quote I know they work and a lot of people like them, but they are god-awful ugly. |

damn everyone cries about 'one less round than shield'... it's really not that big a deal...

Very helpful OP. Looks like I am keeping my Shield. No point in paying more for the G43.
