After driving a 99 CVPI with 141,000 on the odometer I finally got a new one.  Had yearly drivers training last week and  I do believe that I could drink a cup of coffee or other beverage while going through the course.  With the 99 I had to work my butt off.  I got a LED light bar and I can now go 75 MPH and not have to turn the radio up to hear over the light bar nosie.  My old car was a good one but after numerous overheating problems and 3 heater cores in 9,000 miles it was time for a new one.  The bad news is that a rookie straight out of FTO got the car.

My '06 is waiting to be marked.  I understand fully about the wind noise from the bar. My new one has the low profile Whelen with strobes outboard and the new IR6 LED heads inboard, as well as two Whelen Talons on the rear deck. If you haven't seen the IR6 heads yet, they are absolutely more intense than the strobe heads. Unbelievable...

Congrats on the new ride. Oh, and post pics.

Quite the upgrade, I know I've heard they've upgraded the suspension and stuff for 06, plus it should have a bit more goose than your other car. Do take pictures, my city is supposed to be getting 6 new 06's here in a couple months.

We got 13 '06 CV's and two '06 Dodge Charger LE packages... I'll try to get some pics of the chargers when they're done. I'm used to CV's and Cap's... Not sure what to think about the Chargers.

Do take some pictures, I want to see what the chargers look like with a graphic scheme and not black and white.

Will do. Ours are grey and will have our Interstate Crime Unit markings on them.

The car that I drive is a 99 CV with 144K on it.

Don't worry about the rookie that got it... if he feels anything like I do.   It might be past its prime but dammit its MINE

(I'm sure that will wear off as soon as something breaks)

I love my 06 CVPI, the best part is its mine personal car and i got to add whateva I wanted to it and set it up the way I wanted.

The only bad part is the k-9 cage in the back so I have to put a lot of stuff in the trunk, but its worth it.

Enjoy, great car.

Lets see pics

Those are some sharp cars. What is HEAT? Also, does the car have a camera in it? I talked to a Lieutenant here who outfits the cars and I asked him why he didnt go with the full LED stick for the SGT units, which are unmarked, and he said because the camera in the middle of the window.

I got it when it had 65,000 ish o n it and put the miles on in less than three years.  putthat thing through several 10-31's in the process and it got it share of damage.

They are getting cameras but I think they are the dash mount models that use Sony 8mm handycam style cameras. Our 10 CV's for patrol have the Kustom Digital Eye Witness that burns to DVD. The LED stick wouldn't work with the Kustom cam, but will with the dash mount cameras these cars are getting.

And HEAT stands for Highway Enforcement of Agressive Traffic. It's a Georgia Governor's Office of Highway Safety program. Grant money paid for three cars, all equipment, and three Deputies' salaries. Everything all the way down to the color of the cars and how the lettering was done was stipulated by the grant.
