I'm drooling on my keyboard... good job, now for mags and ammo...

Nice rifle! Steer clear of Cavim ammo; I had extremely bad luck with it (cases stuck HARD in the chamber every single time). Portugese, on the other hand, functioned perfectly, and was fairly accurate.

I don't think "lucky" really is the right word. So, did you kiss him after you f**ked him? Great deal. Maybe the Gun Gods will be smiling on you when you buy magazines, too.

Wow, Then I must say "Lucky" was an understatement. Next your going to tell us the seller was going to throw in a case of LC Match... (then I woke up...) Enjoy!

...or completely uneducated when it comes to the market for fine fireams!!!! Nice catch...I'm envious!

I "might" have learned the hard way, but a word of advice, use lead, or preferably copper jacketed to break it in. The FMJ is steel on steel and in the Loooong run might be hard on the bore. IMO not the best for breakin, I'd prefer copper.[;)]OTHER than that GREAT DEAL.

Do some homework, Just because Worldnet News Daily (AKA We Neglect the Details) says it is so doesn't mean ANYTHING. WND is about as reliable as the New York Times as far as fact checking the truth is concerned. Orest Michaels (you know the guy at CMP who actually RUNS the rifle sales program) says there aren't even that many M14's left in the military system. According to him there are more like 30,000 m14's in the system and they are being gobbled up left and right both by Special Ops organizations, the Marine Corps Designated Marksman's Rifle (DMR) programs, and combat unit internal DMR programs. Where do you think all those M14's we are seeing in the news photos are coming from? They are coming out of that system. Additionally, the government HAS been selling excess M14's off to civilian organizations in the form of police purchase programs. They have actually been doing pretty brisk business on that front. As far as the stories about M14's being destroyed, well, that information is between 15 and 20 years out of date. They actually were crunching M14's under the Clinton administration and before, but then they stopped that project and began shipping M14's to allied countries like Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. That accounts for the vast majority of the 300,000 mentioned in the fish-wrap article by WND. So where did this B.S. come from? Probably from some overzealous and well intentioned person reading Fred's Pages (you know the guy who sells surplus M14 stocks.) Fred has been carping on this thing for a whole bunch of years now, and the info was bad when he started it. The B.S. meters should have been pegging all over the boards when the article mentioned DCM selling M1's for 100.00. The Directorate of Civilian Marksmanship was abolished in the Clinton years and replaced by the corporation known as The Civilian Marksmanship Program. Additionally it has been a couyple of decades since the M1 was available for 100.00. Why am I carping on this again here when this thing has been thrashed everywhere else on the net? Because someone else hasn't gotten the word yet. Why is it important to kill this petition thing dead? Because sloppy, error filled petitions like this send a very strong and very negative message about gun owners to politicians and the general public. They PROVE the HCI image of us as largely ignorant extremists who want our guns at all costs. This is an image we cannot afford to be promoting for them. BTW, Nice rifle and great price!
