What's the best one out there? I have several lengthy .wma files I need to get into .mp3 format.

I've used Super in the past and it seemed to work ok.

I tried to convert a .WMA file to .MP3 and was unable due to the fact that there was restriction put in place by Microsoft for that specific "plug in." From that day on, I always ripped my music straight to public formats such as .MP3 or .WAV.

I've used this program with good results:

http://download.cnet.com/Free-Video-to-MP3-Converter/3000-2194_4-10638108.html I have version 3.1.1.2. Looks like there are much newer versions available now.

My typically use is if I want to make an MP3 from a tune from a movie I have on DVD. I use a program to copy that portion of the movie, then another program to convert it to another file type, then the above program to pull the audio from the clip and save it as an MP3.

I've only used it a couple times though. I made an MP3 out of the acoustic version of the Firefly theme song during the credits of Serenity, and also the theme from Unforgiven that was played during the credits.
