A buddy came to me and offered me this deal
It comes with: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT, Canon 28-105mm f/3.5 - 4.5 USM II, Canon EW 63-II Lense Hood, 2 GB Lexar 80x Compact Flash card ,Case Logic camera bag, capable of holding everything, with some room to spare. He wants $500, is this a good deal? I am looking to get into some amateaur photography. Here is a pic of the camera:  Thanks! |

Thats a 200 dollar lense, so do the math. As long as everything is in good shape.

Oh wow, I honestly dont know anything about these cameras and I know arfcom has some amazing photographers so I opted to ask. Everything is in excellent shape I mean it could pass of as new, I figure I could ebay it if I find its to high end for me. So should I get it? Thanks |

Xt's are still selling for $600+ for the body alone. I doubt he'll go lower. That lens is ok and will get you by until you really want to get into it and start dropping $500-$1500 on lenses. I'd find out how many shutter activations the camera has first. |

Just talked to him and he said he would sell all of it for $475, I think thats a screaming deal.
