love this quote from early american during the writing of the constitution. "Their swords, and every other terrible instrument of the soldier, are the birth right of an American. ... The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or the state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people."

So added that the SCOTUS in the Miller decision said that the weapon must be of military use, then it is high time everyone arms themslves with belt fed machine guns and howitzers, frag grenades and other destructive devices, and if each citizen did this there is little a few fedcoats could do about it.

Unforetunately without regulation/organiztion meaning well disciplined trained equipt of the militia it is of little use for security of the free state.

An instance within the memory of some of this house will show us how our militia may be destroyed. Forty years ago, when the resolution of enslaving America was formed in Great Britain, the British Parliment was advised by an artful man, who was governor of Pennsylvania, to disarm the people; that is was the best and most effectual way to enslave them; but that they should not do it openly, but weaken them, and let them sink gradually, by totally disusing and neglecting the militia. -- George Mason at the Virginia Ratification Convention, June 14, 1788
