Thanks for the warning gentlemen. I'd seen the reviews and thought it would be good.

We did the 19 hour audio book. The ending wasn't what I wanted, but it was a fantastic story.

I liked it. Don't know why anyone but prudes and radfems would hate it.

View Quote Click To View Spoiler They didn't touch on it enough compared to the book, but the reason why in the novel is because he doesn't want to become the man to his child that his father was to him. Also, he cares what people think about him.
In the film, I think the reason why is because she succeeded in making him into her version of him. In that last scene where he actually does hit her, you know she has won because she says over and over that he hit her; abused her when he didn't, but after she's done with him, he becomes what she wanted. After we know that, there is only one way the story can end. |

the book is great.. i've yet to see the movie, but the ending of the book was perfect, even though a lot of people hated it..

There is a movie section....posting in General makes it hard to find these reviews....

Click To View Spoiler With how conniving she was, I'd still be skeptical. She already faked her pregnant urine before.

it also has some fucking beautiful scenery..... makes me wanna go to canada and check it out. View Quote Wasn't filmed in Canada... filmed in the heartland of the USA. Mostly filmed in the Cape Girardeau Missouri area. Some of the scenes along the riverfront were on the Illinois side of the Mississippi I think. The story arc in the middle of the movie was filmed at a state park in Southwest Illinois. Not far from KY. |

Except for the edges it's Midwestern. I haven't been to Cape Girardeau however so maybe it's southern. |

It seemed to me more of an essay on how the media controls the story and sways public opinion with or without having all the facts involved. |

I hated it when I first saw it in the theater, but it grew on me. It's a fantastic movie, and probably the first one I've seen in many years that kept me interested as the plot progressed

Just read the plot in Wikipedia...That was MORE than enough for me. Bitches be crazy.

I thought it was pretty good. As soon as the credits popped up I turned to my gf, looked her straight in the eyes, and told her point blank not to bother coming back because the ending would be quite different.
I did not get pie that night... |

I thought it was excellent.
I had not read the book but the wife had. She was grinning the entire time. |
