We did the 19 hour audio book. The ending wasn't what I wanted, but it was a fantastic story.

Wasn't filmed in Canada... filmed in the heartland of the USA. Mostly filmed in the Cape Girardeau Missouri area. Some of the scenes along the riverfront were on the Illinois side of the Mississippi I think. The story arc in the middle of the movie was filmed at a state park in Southwest Illinois. Not far from KY.

Missouri isn't southern. Except for the edges it's Midwestern. I haven't been to Cape Girardeau however so maybe it's southern.

I hated it when I first saw it in the theater, but it grew on me. It's a fantastic movie, and probably the first one I've seen in many years that kept me interested as the plot progressed

What I thought, and would have liked to have happened was when his wife "escaped" from NPH's house that her ex she framed for raping her in college would come back and shoot her at a press conference or something.

I thought it was pretty good. As soon as the credits popped up I turned to my gf, looked her straight in the eyes, and told her point blank not to bother coming back because the ending would be quite different.
