Going to Lafayette Gun Club on Friday to shoot the 16" PCR Olympic that my youngest son and I built for his Christmas present. I thought I would take my 24" bull barrel varmint, a CZ-52(7.62x25) and a Yugoslav SKS.

Getting your kids involved in firearms is great. I took my daughters out this year, and it was great.

Nice sharing this addiction, uh, hobby with them.

I'm going to the indoor pistol range to try out my new Beretta 84FS.

Life is good.

I was planning on going to the outdoor range to shoot my AR, but then I found out it's closed indefinitely because some asspie vandalized it.  Anyway, have fun!

Well, I'm going to the range friday, also... I'm going to run a few rounds through my SAR-1 to check my latest trigger work, run a few through the Bushy to test out my altered 5rnd mag, and run a couple through my .243 to check my zero before beginning my coyote season - for starters... My friend is going to bring an SKS he just got - oughta be fun...

Sniper_Wolfe is coming out tomorrow to break in his 1911, I'll put some rounds through the Glock and the Yugo M48. Should be a good time.

I hear it's supposed to be relatively warm.

My wife and I are taking my son and his GF to the range this Sunday. They're both really looking forward to it.

I need to get my GF out to the range. she doesn't think guns are evil but she doesn't trust herself around them.

She is afraid she'll get nervous and do something that she can't reverse.

Understandable but hopefully I can work with her.

Definite need for an extended "lunch break" at the range, think I will do it. Thanks for the idea.

We got to the range at 10:30 and were the only people on the 100 yd. for the first 45 minutes. 38 degrees in the shade(we shoot from under a double roof with 6" of gravel between the ceiling and the roof and under a concrete curtain) kept a lot of less serious shooters at home. The son's Oly with an Eagle receiver from Quantico ran well with no failures to feed or extract with 4 different mags for about 120 rounds. I threw in a LULA loader and he really liked that.My Oly with a 20" barrel ran well also. The 24" bull barrel varmint has too much lube on the bolt carrier.I read on a comment from someone to use grease on the bolt carrier and the carrier was sluggish, so the grease comes off today and CLP goes on like the other ARs.All the ARs are built on Eagle/Armalite receivers from Quantico Arms. The Yugoslav SKS(shooter grade,C&R, from AIM) ran like those guns do,bang, bang, bang etc. for 50 rounds. It groups 8" high at 100 yards. Some adjustment on the front sight should cure that.

You aren't talking about Lafayette, Louisiana, are you?

Sunset04, no, not Louisiana, Lafayette Gun Club is in York County Virginia. They are real big on Revolutionary War history in this area. The range is just off George Washington Highway on Dare road.
