If convicted on something that would send you to The Big House, would you go? And if you've already been there once, would you go back?
Poll coming |

Putting a gun in your mouth. ETA: IBTP |
The key is to not get convicted. If you do its pretty much a done deal.
No way in hell. Of course, I am not a criminal, so I'm not too worried.
If I did go to prison, I will never wash my butt...
However, I will never go to prison. |
Depends for how long.
But if someone was trying to trump up some claim that I was nuts and stick me in a state run mental institution, hoo boy you better bring a kevlar butterfly net for that one. |
Well, if it was a case of mistaken identity or some huge screwup & I was totally innocent, I would hide somewhere in America or Canada.
If I did the crime & I knew I was guilty I would do the time. |
You know they say money is the root of all evil....
Money will get you a GREAT lawyer. Or a private jet to get you out of the country on the DL. |
I would get OJ to adopt me. He would never go to prison or he could give you a slow ride to Mexico in a white Bronco.
I'd do what the guy did in the shawshank redemption, except for the going to prison part and anal rape part. Create a fake identity and transfer assets in that identities name to accounts in Switzerland. Then leave for Europe, Mexico, or whereever. Keep quite and stay off the grid.
Depends on what for. IF I was convicted of using a cordless drill, propane torch, and a sawzall on some scumbag who molested one of my children, I'd do the time.
I would never use a gun in a crime if I were inclined to commit a crime. I would not want the crime to be used as another example for use by the Anti's. |

I've known people who spent time in prison.
Not just the local county jail, but prison. They seem to come out of it no worse for the wear. It certainly isn't the place for someone who gets homesick, or can't handle being told what to do, and when to do it. I would imagine that anyone who has gone through basic training would think prison is easy. Now, nobody ever said how long you would go to prison for it to make a difference. If, for some reason, I was going in for life with no possibility of getting out, you could bet I'd go for the guard's gun and take as many people with me as I could. But for a year or two... It would be hard because I have a wife. But damn, you are fed, clothed, air conditioning, television. You don't have to go to work. Sounds like a freak'in vacation to me. |
It really depends on the amount of time I would be doing. Im 20 so if it was say 10 years, I would rather die. Im really not scared of Prison, other than being sad not seeing my friends. Ive talked to MANY people who have been there. They all say its not like Tv at all. They say yeah some people get raped, some people stabbed. They said if you go, the first thing that will happen is the inmates will test you out. Try to steal your food or cut in line. Even if it is the biggest mother fucker in the world, You have to fight, and never quit untill the COs break it up. If you get jumped and beat down, you can never run to the guards and tell. Never get involved in gambling or drugs, never get a debt of any kind.
They all say that the first people to approach you in prison, are the last people you want anything to do with. They are running a hustle of some sort, trying to get you to owe them. ETA my friend Nick did 4.5 years from the age of 17 in a level 3 here in MI. He actually went back a year or so ago, for PV. he said that The prisons here in MI have really really gotten soft. Said that everyone was just trying to do their time and get out. |
It all depends on what prison. Some of them wouldn’t be bad at all. You would be in with a bunch of embezzlers and big time smugglers who just want to serve their time and get out.
Then there are the ones full of violent criminals. I wouldn’t last 5 minutes in on of those places. |

Go to the Washington state forum in the "Hometown" section. Ask "Tweak" how he likes life in the big house?

Though the statement of the problem wasn't detailed enugh to address those possibilities, I consider it the key to the answer. I don't commit crimes, either. But, suppose you are wrongfully convicted or "they" have made a crime something which isn't really a crime, such as failing to line up for injection of a transponder? How about the guy who was convicted of rape because a teenage girl ran up to him in a mall and screamed "He's the one; he did it?" Seven years later she recanted, saying she had had consensual sex with her boyfriend, and was afraid to tell her parents. Does one just take it calmly and say "The system works?" |
no you didnt just say that thanks for the new sig |
As far as I know the US doesn't have an extradition treaty with Argentina.
Take that anyway you want to. |
Bad Form. |
Do you think everyone in prison has actually committed a crime? (edit: or at least the one they were convicted of, i'm sure everyone here has commited a crime of some sorts and was never caught, drinking underage, etc.) Being a criminal justice minor and having taken many courses on the courts and wrongful convictions, my view of the criminal justice system is quite cynical.. |
+1 You'd be surprised how many people will confess to crimes they didn't commit for no other reason than someone in authority told them they did. |
+1000. I seriously hope you didn't mean that the way it came out. |
Depends, how long would I be put away for?
If it were for 10 years or more I would probably do anything I could to resist and get out of here. |
If I was guilty and I knew it I would serve my sentance.
If it was some BS unconstitutional law it would end it a shoot out. If I was framed and I knew I couldnt get out of it I would leave the country. |
I would hold all my shit and piss for an entire week. When I was in court I would pull my pants down and do it right there in front of the judge. I would sling some at the jury and guards for good measure and roll around in it.
They would get a straight jacket and put me in a hospital somewhere but its better then getting my ass ventilated by Tyrone. If I really commited a crime, they wouldnt take me alive. But I really dont have to worry about it. But who knows. I have seen very good people accidently kill people and worse. |
Ditto that...There are way too many other places (Countries) to hide out at. The real trick is having the initial support system. |
That is the simplest and most practical flowchart. I agree, though the years and experiences have made me more cranky, so some people would get what I could give them before I left. |
Trust me, after 10yrs. working in a level IV (max security) prison I have only one thing to say on the subject. NO FUCKING WAY!!!
