I'm psyched!  It'll be our first vacation in over 12 years!...and obviously the first one my 2yr. old son has been on.

My family used to take me there every summer for a week or so when I was younger.  We had a blast!

Now it's been a good 15+ years since we were there so I'll share our plans and if anyone can make suggestions on other things to do, see, places to eat it'd be much appreciated!

We're going to be staying Tues and Wed and coming home Thurs in August.

We plan on going to the beach.  We also plan to go to Wildwood (most likely on Wed so we'll have the whole day to walk the boardwalk and go on the rides).  We'll also be going to "The Lobster House".  It's kinda tradition as we ALWAYS went there when my family and I went in the past.  I'll also take along a salt-water pole so my son and I can do some fishing.

Again, any other ideas would be much appreciated!!

Thanks!

Yeah I know.  I am NOT a fan of Jersey.  Something bad always happens (usually with whatever vehicle we are in) whenever we go.  But we needed to get away...the last 10 years have just sucked!

I need to school myself on their gun laws though as I know they make Nazi's look warm and fuzzy when it comes to citizens having guns.  All I know is that the mag cap is 15rds.  Not sure how to legally transport at much but I figure a handgun in the cargo area locked up with the mag/ammo in a separate locked container should be ok.

Thanks

Really?  Ha!  Ok then.  We'll just do the beach, some fishing in the bay, maybe walk around the shops, Wildwood, The Lobster House and then come back home.

I can't wait for my kid to see and experience the ocean!!

Horseshoe crabs should be a riot for him as well!

Do they rent boats there for an hour or two that I could take my family out?  Just something small with a 10hp motor will do.  I'd tow my 14' v-hull along but I don't want to push my luck with something going wrong.

Thanks!

Def plan an afternoon at the Cape May County Zoo with the young one. Well kept and they just added a petting zoo as well.

Best of all - it's free!

I would do some research or call state police before you drive around with a pistol in the glove box. If I remember correct, when I lived there, weapons HAD to be stored/secured/transported in a locked box separate from ammo. It may also have to be in the trunk.

Again, I could be remembering wrong, just do some research.

The Lobster House rules !

There's a small Restaurant/bar located in a marina on the Wildwood side of the bridge. Best breakfast ever ! They have an eggs benidict section on the menu. A few weeks back I had the Lobster holandaise over a poached egg, crab cake, Virginia ham. At the bottom is a super thin and crisp home made english muffin. I'll try and find out the name and edit my post !

Harbor View Marina 954 Ocean Drive, Cape May.

The dining area is on the second floor. Bar is on the first as is the deck. It get crowded and loud at night but the brealfast menu is Wildwood's best kept secret.
