Local Cabelas is selling it. Excellent shape.
It is a Stainless, Target model with the box. I got a $100 gift card towards it. I always wanted one. Do you own one? Pics? Accuracy? |
|
I've got a 10" blue, I like the accuracy, but it has always seemed a little unwieldy. With a scope and a good rest, it is capable of minute of a golfball accuracy out to 100 yards. Try the Valquartsen trigger kit, a little spendy but it makes a huge difference.

I have the much shorter barrel model, and the target grips make it shoot far better than i do.
Well, technically its always done that... But the grips have significantly improved the groupings. Yinz know what i mean :) |

5.5 inch bull bbl here. Grips are #1. The ruger MKII is so accurate that it is boring!!!! I have some huge old aimpoint on it and the kids call it the deathray.

Excellent pistol.
I have the 5" barrel, polymer frame mkIII and I love it. I am very interested to see pics of a 10" barrel. |

PLEASE make a video - with sound - the first time you field strip it and post to youtube. I have a 22/45 and love it but breaking the thing down and seeing how it works is a PhD level lesson in Rube Goldberg engineering.
Don't let that sway your decision. They are great little pistols and a lot of fun to shoot. |

I have 2 5.5" bull barrel MKII.. one stainless, one blued.. I had a 10" back in the early 90's but traded it as it was a pain in the ass to use anywhere other then the range.. It was pretty accurate for shooting silhouettes. but that all the experience I have with one with a barrel that long..

Run don't hesitate and buy that pistol. I have been looking for one for the past 3 years, most people that have them will not part. Sad thing is many of these pistols have had their barrels cut to 8" or so, as the "experts" say that an 8 inch barrel is superior in accuracy.
A good friend had one and it was absolutely awesome, the long sight radius is what makes these guns so great. I own (3) MK 2's and they are all wonderful but none will shoot at distance like that 10 inch gun would. We would shoot it at 80 yards in a chert pit. He could hit beer cans all day with it at that distance. I later found out he traded it, I went to buy it from the dealer, it was already gone. If you decide you don't want to keep it e-mail me or IM. |

Had a blued one 20 years ago & loved it! Used it mostly for bullfrogs & squirrel but traded it in. Now I have one blue & one stainless short tapered barrel models.

Doesn't the Mossad prefer the Mk II for close up brain surgery on Palestinians?

Someone has a kit that you can install and the bolt removal and installation takes about 10 seconds using an allen wrench.

I have those exact two pistols. I had to check that I still had them. |

Here is mine, but it's not a 10" barrel. Was passed on to me by my dad...It was given to him sometime in the 1970s... It is an absolute TACK DRIVER, and recoils like firing a cap gun. EDIT TO ADD: Sorry... Mine is a MARK I, not a MARK II http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v508/madmedic/MK1.jpg?t=1293385011 DO WANT!!! CMOS |

I don't have a Ruger, but do have one of these http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f228/timinky/SW002.jpg Have I already commented you on the wood grips in a different thread? By the time I bought one, they were only available with polymer grips. Can't get the wood grips anywhere. |

One of the first handguns I ever bought was a 10" Ruger 22.
Not sure why I even got it, squirrel hunting I guess. I put a cheap red dot on it and it was a fun pistol. I got rid of it. I now have the 4" 22/45. LOVE this little pistol. Wish I could get a 17hmr in it. They are sweet. |

I bought myself a 22/45 MKIII 5.5 barrel this morning. had to order it..so I'm waiting.

Love my MkII Government Model http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo360/fallfaster/ResizeofmkII.jpg I used to have one of those. I still can't believe I traded it away for whatever I can't even remember... I have the 5 inch Stainless bull barrel target Mark II now and I WILL NEVER LET IT GO but I would if I could get a government model again. Patrick |

I wanted to get a metal frame but the price was the deciding factor. I paid just over $300 for it when the all metal guns were $450 plus. Its not a show piece for me, I shoot the hell out of mine. At least a 500 round pack a month. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll31/madman_jim/photo-1.jpg I bought a Buckmark URX last month & it's all metal. Paid $319.00 out the door for it. |

I didn't know thy made the 5.5 Bull in the MK1 era. In any case I wish they had an ambi or at least a left handed saftey. I won the ILL-MO state pistol Bullseye season with a borrowed MK2 5.5 Bull by 130 pionts. This was after losing aprox 300 point due to faulty ammo. You could not replace duds and I had somewhere around 30
