Wifey and I (no kidlings) are going to vacate for several days, July 2-5.

I'm looking for suggestions as to where to go.

Our requirements -

1. Driving distance in the southeast. Max - 7 hours. We're in South Carolina

2. Some shooting activities for me.

3. Some pool / ocean for the wife.

4. Militaria / historical is cool too.

Right now were thinking either Knoxville (big UT fans) or Jamestown Virginia.
We've done Charlestown, SC several times recently.

Whadda ya say???

It is an island near Wilmington....I lived there for 6 months last year , It is pretty nice....

I vote for Virginia beach. You can hit Jamestown, Yorktown and Williamsburg as well.  If you can stand the indignation (being a southerner) You should visit Gettysburgh Pa. someday. Take a horseback tour of the battlefield.

I agree with the Williamsburg/Va Beach area recommendation.
