I was thinking the Arizona Cardinals. That is what they were called back in the 70's in St. Louis.

I was thinking of a certain boarding school in the east.

I'm a Nebraska fan, just not on the day they play Virginia Tech.

Today is like Christmas, with all of the games on and stuff.

Sure, Nebraska is still a shadow of it's former self but we managed to stay "somewhat" relevant during our rebuild, more so than OU and Texas did as they transitioned.

PS -Suppose you're still bitter from the last two ass-whoppings at the hands of the Huskers that you had to post your classless comment?
Regardless, the Volunteers will be humbled enough in the SEC this year with that pubescent-coach at the helm.

Why? Did you find a time machine to take you back 15 years?

It seems as though some of you are confused on who the real BIG RED team is and I feel it’s my duty to inform you.

Go Big Red is synonymous with Sooner Football at OU.

Fuck, until Texas joined the Big XII and learned to play football again... NO teams got more mileage out of "past glories" than Texas and USC.

Yup, I'm from Texas so I MUST be a UT fan. I also wear a cowboy hat everywhere I go and ride a horse to work.

I realize that being a Nebraska fan, you might be under the false impression that every other state has, at the most, one division I college, but that is simply not the case.

We'll see. Everyone is counting us out, so hopefully it will go like Texas in the 95 Sugar Bowl

VTech is 0-20 against top 5 teams away from home….so I doubt it.

Sooner or later, we will be bound to win one. I think tonight is the night. Statistics indicate what happens to QB's who are just getting their first start against the Bud Foster defense. Add in a veteran OL and QB, and you have a good combination.

Wasn't Nebraska one of the teams in the conference that used to be known as Oklahoma and the Seven Dwarfs?

It's going to be an interesting season.
I hate seeing cold weather back, but football makes it ok.

Classless? Fuck you!

and yes losing to you guys twice and to Penn State twice was em bare assing. I will readily admit you guys are the 4the best team in your conference. Us? Not so much.

BLACK SHIRTS!!
Link Posted: 9/5/2009 9:27:47 AM EST
I used to love to watch them play when the other teams knew Nebraska was just going to run at them so they would pack 7 or 8 guys on the D line and still couldn't stop them. There was something very pure about that style of football.

GO Big Red!!!

you mean the team that stole the national championship from penn state in the '94-'95 season?

yeah i still hate them and they still stink

Link Posted: 9/5/2009 7:03:55 PM EST
They sounded like they had their shit together for the most part.
They are on the way back up. Obviously there is still some work to be done.

Zac Lee has his stuff going, lets hope he can keep it up.
Freshman running back Rex Burkhead can get the job done if Roy Helu cannot.
A few too many penalties but, there were at least two that were kind of bogus, but, thats football. Happens to every team.

No, Florida Atlantic is no Texas or OU but the execution of NU was real good compared to the Callahan era.

Cant believe Sam Bradford got hurt but thats the chances you take in football. Listened to part of the OU game on Sirius and it sounded like OU shot themselves in the foot a few too many times.

(Remember, its just a game that really has no effect on pretty much none of us for the most part)

Not sure how Nebraska would be amongst those "seven dwarfs" considering we had the two most dominant college teams ever (1970, 1995), 5 national titles, and rank in the top 5 for most wins ever.
