Quoted: Seems like a non-starter. Fatter G26 slide, only 12 rd mag that is likely proprietary. View Quote I'd just like to better understand the concept and the motivation behind it. Are there other Glock clones based on G26 gen3 parts? With an ambidextrous magazine release? With modular backstraps? PSA deserves credit for cloning the OEM Glock G43X and G48. However, smaller companies may not be willing to clone OEM Glock pistols involving active Glock patents. This may have been GForce Arms attempt at a hybrid Slimline pistol while avoiding active Glock patents by using gen3 parts for which the patents have expired. Not sure. |
|
Not exactly a Glock clone, but here's another interesting clone "concept" ...
Shield Arms is now offering an OEM Glock G43X/G48 frame "grip-chop service" and a 10-round version of their gen3 S15 15-round magazine. Shield Arms will chop the height of your G43X/G48 frame to just shorter than a G43 frame. The S10 10-round magazine forms a flush fit with the grip-chopped G43X/G48 frame. A grip-chopped G43X is similar in concept to the GForce Arms Rapture GF9 (G26 gen3). The Rapture GF9 has a 12-round (proprietary) ~G43-height x G43X/G48-width magazine. However, the Rapture GF9 magazine may have a magazine extension (not a flush fit) and the Rapture GF9 frame *may* be slightly taller. Eventually someone will manufacture a grip-chopped G43X/G48 clone. My money is on PSA. Obviously, PSA could cut down their Dagger™ Micro magazine to 10 - 13 rounds.
Here's the Instagram video from which I took the still pictures, Shield Arms S10 Magazine? Here's a YouTube video discussing the Shield Arms S15 gen3 15-round magazine (new manufacturer), S10 10-round magazine, and G43X grip-chop service ... Has anyone used any of Anderson's glock barrels? Whats your opinion on them?

Ok, finally got to shoot my G19 clone built on a Combat Armory frame, Aim Surplus frame kit, and a Dagger complete slide assembly.
Shot great, no more or less accurate in my hands than any other polymer frame striker fired pistol. Only issue was about on round 100 ( shot a total of 200 rounds), I was rapid firing. Just letting the trigger come forward enough to reset. On the last round of a 15 round mag, I got a dead trigger? Have never had that problem before, with either actual Glocks I have owned, or my Daggers. Any idea what may have caused it? The last 100 rounds was as rapid fire as I could keep the front sight on the paper plate I was shooting at. No more issues. I was only letting the trigger forward enough to reset those as well. |
|
I just picked up a complete polymer80 lower for $69.99 on sale, total cost was $87.34 shipped; and a PSA Dagger complete slide for $206.90 shipped.
So total cost of $294.24. Not bad for a Glock clone. |

So what is out there for Gen4 17 compatible frames?
I was given a Brownells slide last year that works on Gen4 17 grips and I'm going to put a factory Glock barrel in it. I already have the RSA. I know I can get a Gen4 22 used LE trade in gun but then I'd have another slide to sell or part out. Not really worth it to me to do that. |

Their nomenclature is a little confusing. I have one, and it has a G19 sized slide on it. P80 makes a 17/22 size frame but I think it’s Gen 3 only, as least not without modification. I think there are a couple others that are likely P80 made, like Grey Ghost and Grid, too. P80 also use to make a 17 slide/19 grip version but I think it’s discontinued. Lone Wolf makes their Timberwolf in 17 size, which I think can be configured either Gen 3 or Gen 4. The Dagger S frame is 17 grip/19 slide size as far as I’ve seen, I think they have hinted that a 17 slide length frame may come at some point but I haven’t seen them. The 17 length slide they’ve had so far has been 47esque (19 frame compatible). There are some factory Glock frames that come up for sale at reasonable cost on occasion, though not as cheap as they use to be. Two years ago I saw 3 packs of used G22 frames for $99. Regret not buying some. |

View Quote @wickedbeernut my OEM glock trigger bar and connector showed up today, stuck them in, that fixed my issue. Thanks again for the advice! Also, anyone thinking about trying the AIM surplus glock frame parts kit, I only tried it because frankly at the time no one else had an OEM in stock I could find. I have read many negative reviews on that kit, rolled the dice, and had issues. It could have been just tolerance stacking, but the OEM glock parts fixed the issue. Be warned. |

I handled one of the Combat Armory frames today, it’s felt pretty good. I’d prefer if it was a bit more reduced/less hump in the back but the texture was pretty much the right blend of grip without going too aggressive and it felt solid. Pins were a touch tighter than factory Glock frames but that could have been the parts kit. Using straight Glock parts instead of proprietary locking blocks and rails is a plus in my book.
