Over the holidays when I was visiting family a kilomile away, dragging my dogs along with me, I got bored.  One night I got curious, and wondered how much oil the humans on Earth produced per year.  There was family, friends, and alcohol involved, so I limited my search to the top 20 Oil producers per year with data from 2012.  The UK was #20 FWIW.  I came up with just a hair over 1.0 cubic miles of production per year.  Compare it to your local lake and it will give you perspective, unless I am wrong.

All comments are welcomed and encouraged, especially if they are particularly targeted at me in a hostile fashion, the COC be damned.  Have Fun!

And it is all made from dinosaurs that just happened to die in just the right way to turn into oil.
