Ok things have been pretty quiet around here... the reason? Temp network has been hell!!!
Well, this week the new network goes in, and actually as of this message the lines are drawn and we're awaiting the techs to come test and finalize them. This is scheduled to happen Thursday/Friday. That means that we'll test the lines ourselves this weekend, and most likely move the site over on Sunday. (Maybe Sat if things go well!)
What can you expect? A HELL of a lot more bandwidth for the site. This means the site should by flying high! We picked up roughly double the BW we had in our prime, so we expect much better response times, load times, etc.
Along with the network changes, the servers have been reconfigured and retasked into a new and hopefully better network configuration. The goal is to maximize BW usage as well as speed in the architecture.
Further more, the site itself will be changing and being rebuilt a module at a time to increase performance and responsiveness! The first issue on the agenda was to clean up the "cluttered" interface with something rich and easy to use. We also wanted to highlight the vital areas of the site, the forums, equipment exchange, and industry forums!
To kick this off, I am linking in a shot of the upcoming design change. Yes, I realize you guys HATE change, but this is mostly for the homepage. The forums will continue to be live on its full page, but the buttons and navigation will be simplified. As well, the tools, such as chat and IM will be rewritten in the future to be more useful!

Many other changes are in the pipe, including an upgrade to the forums for older browsers and handheld devices. The forums may also get a small visual upgrade. [=D]
Thanks for being patient and supporting the site! Make sure you thank the site supporters for making everything possible, without them, the site would have died a quick death!!!
