I have seen the posts for the USC project, and it looks like an EXCELLENT Idea. I will probably buy a USC
                    in the first part of next year and then get the conversion kit when it is available.

                    The only catch to that is the price of the USC's WILL go up when a high quality conversion kit hits the
                    market. Dealers will charge full Suggested Retail, and Used guns will be not much less. The only reason
                    SL-8's haven't gone up is because of the piss-poor reputation of Speshul Wempons.

                    Shawn, is there any possibility of a heads up from you on the availability of the kits (i.e.--in production in
                    2 months) posted here and the GD or GFD boards? I for one would appreciate it.

USC made to date 1300

any business man can only expect 20% of market no mater what he has so 20 % of
1300 is 260 there is no way you can recover your RD and tooling in 260 parts NO
WAY he is pissing in the wind and as for the 20 people on the internet saying go
for it well that is 20 or the 260 people. This is a loose loose project until
the sales hit 5000 and even with the kit do you want a $1000 gun, black it out
for $200 and Shawn $500 kit and you get a $1700 piece of plastic that shoots
greese gun mags.....Good luck

I got a huge kick out of that.

I had the form to pre-order (it would have been nearly 2 years to get it!!) an SW-5, and wound up putting the $700 into an HK SR-9 instead--one of my smartest gun decisions.  I have seen the replies made by Todd to his critics, and have no interest in Special Weapons.  I have also heard (both second hand, and in posts by Todd himself) multiple outrageous claims--he is buying HK, HK is discontinuing the MP-5 and all the gov.org and mil.org groups will be buying their stuff from Special Weapons, etc., etc., etc, ad nauseatum.  

I am surprised he didn't want to sue me--but I guess he is too busy negotiating a contract to build a couple of Aircraft Carriers for the Pentagon.

How that dipshit is still in business is a mystery to me.

Funny thing, with all the gun owners I know, I have yet to meet a person that will admit to owning ANY of his guns.  I have also never seen anyone shooting any of his guns at any range.

The only time I see his guns are at gun shows and gun stores, and I see the same gun every time I go.  My guess is there are a lot of unhappy dealers around the nation stuck with his shitty guns.

I guess all the satisfied 'customers' he always brags about are the LE SWAT and US SpecOps guys that buy all his guns to replace their shitty HKs. [rolleyes]

If Shawn's project wasn't a threat, why would he bother taking the time to comment?

I think he's a fraid that if the actual HK will finally become a threat to his market.  People will have a choice... more choices and you won't be limited to 10 rounds too. [:)]

Granted, if dealers are greedy, they might ask the full boat load price for the USC  (as another post suggested in the Cav Arms forum section).  Time will tell.

Well, well, I'm surprised Toad would show up here and attack Shawn again after the cussing he took from us on HK91.com afterwards.  I wonder if they locked my account?  Never went back to see.  I was actually looking into buying an SW until that point, now I will never buy one.
