Very good movie.  I highly recommend it.

Mel Gibson plays a thief who got caught and thrown in El Pueblito (a real, unique, horrible, now defunct Tijuana prison) He has to learn how survive in the prison.  He befriends a boy and his mother and the movie really takes off from there.  Any more would be spoilers.

The screenplay, written by Gibson, is fast-paced, clever, and keeps you interested throughout.  It might be one of Mel's best movies ever.  It didn't get a lot of marketing I guess. Probably because he's a wingnut IRL.

There's some cool, brutal gun-fights throughout.

The trailer is somewhat misleading, but here it is:

Is this straight to video or is it in the theater?  I saw the trailer and thought it looked like it would be worth checking out, but I thought it was coming out later in the year.  Where did you see it?
