Puerto Rico governor says US territory 'can't pay $72bn debt'

Puerto Rico is on the verge of default

Governor: Puerto Rico near 'death spiral'

PR is a wonderful place with wonderful people. They're fighting for their 2nd Amendment Rights, just voted in majority for Statehood, and actually aren't the tax leeches that many think they are. Problem is that they still have a major problem to fix.

I think economic collapse will do good for PR.... if the Federal Government wasn't going to bail them out. A taste of failure really whips up the people. The previous Governor was slashing government jobs and promoting private business. He was also Republican. The current Democrat is a fucking Marxist.

The feds aren't going to bail them out, they are still a territory.

The only reason they even voted for statehood now is because they are neck deep in debt.

For the past 15 years all the pr gov has done is raise taxes and kill business only to spend and steal ridiculous amounts of money on the dumbest crap ever.

The future pr govs will not change this trend unless there is a major collapse.

PR is like that asshole old friend who doesn't want anything to do with you until they need something.

Why do we need PR?  Let them have their independence.  The last thing the US needs is another non producing entitlement state to take care of.
