I was filling some more gas can today at the local Kroger gas station for my brother to take back to Mississippi with him and a woman came up to us to tell us about the tax being ordered dropped by the Governor of Geogia and how she has heard of the neighboring states such as Florida was going to take advantage of that and cross state lines to drain the pumps dry. Now I had to take that with a grain of salt to tell you the truth. Where's my tin foil hat?

Sure, I'll drive 3 hours each way to save $.12 per gallon.

The savings could be as much as 15 cents a gallon. On a 20 gallon fillup, you are talking 3 bucks.

Some moron is going to drive how far to save 3 dollars?

The average car costs more than 50 cents a mile to operate, if the round trip from out of state is more than 10 miles, there is no savings, but an increased cost to the end user.
