I have had Progressive insurance for about more years than I can remember.  I have it through a local agent.
My premium is $156 a month on a 2012 F150 FX4 SuperCrew.

I recently, on a whim, decided to try to lower my monthly expenses.  I went to another insurance agent and had them run a few other companies quotes.  They also ran Progressive.  They got the same rate and the other companies they use were more.

FYI, my MVR is clean for at least 5 years.  No accidents in more than 10 years.

I got on Geico's website a few minutes ago and ran a quote.  $75 a month.

Anyone have any experience with Geico?  Hard to get ahold of them in case of incident?

Progressive are huge anti-gunners.

I wouldn't consider them even when they were the lowest price.

I have had both, and I have nothing good to say about either one. But I can tell you I have Nationwide and have had no problems.

Edit: I pay $106 per month for full tort $50k limits and $100 deductible.

The wife and I had gieco for several years and then when we need then they crawlfished and would not pay out. They claim we did not pay the premium even though we had proof of the cancel check
Link Posted: 4/25/2013 11:18:50 AM EDT
They're both more expensive than traditional agencies. Progressive has hidden fees which is why I'm leaving them.

full coverage on 05 dodge ram 2500 cummins, 2000 F150 supercharged Harley, 2004 Honda Pilot, $100 a month.

I had Geico, and than I realized that the raping I was getting was completely unlubed.  Since I have switched to Esurance the tender loving they have given me seems delightful in comparison.

Had Geico. After three months that considered GMC Vandura a commercial vehicle and cancelled the policy.

If I ever see a gecko in the road, I wont stop.

Progressive may be owned by Soros or equivalent.  "Progressive" equals liberal.
Link Posted: 4/25/2013 11:24:59 AM EDT
Check out Germania, they're good!
Link Posted: 4/25/2013 11:27:28 AM EDT
Progressive is owned by Soros.  I don't know why anyone would patronize one of his companies.  Dinosaur BBQ is another.
I've had Geico for 8 years (motorcycle and auto) and never had an issue.  Good customer service and the best rates I can find.  They were about half the price of USAA for the same coverage.
Link Posted: 4/25/2013 11:28:17 AM EDT
Damn.....try State Farm, Farmers, Amercian Family, etc.

Geico are deadbeats and Progressive are progressives.

Unless you have a complete shit driving record there are many options.
Link Posted: 4/25/2013 11:28:28 AM EDT
I've been with Geico for over 16 Years 6+ claims and never once did they raise my rates. no complaints from me.
Link Posted: 4/25/2013 11:28:40 AM EDT
I have geico insurance. Had to make a claim last week when my old lady hit a parked car

I had a human on the phone within 45 seconds. Process went well, haven't seen how much my rates will go up yet though.

I just checked with 21st after seeing some commercials for them. Geico is $600 dollars a month cheaper.
Link Posted: 4/25/2013 11:29:34 AM EDT
I've been with Geico for 30 years. I've never had a problem with them, but I've never made a claim either.

Fuck Geico. They jacked our premiums up an extra $30 a month after some lady claimed my wife dinged her car door when she opened hers. Wife sent pic & video showing no damage, of course nobody would ever answer the phone. Always transferred to someone's voice mail.

Progressive dumped me after getting rear ended at a stop light by an illegal driving another illegal's car that fled the scene.

Neither

15+ years with GEICO, auto and motorcycle policies.  We have had to file a few claims with absolutely no problems at all.  Rates are the best (at least in Florida) and I have no reason to even consider another insurer.  Clean driving records for the wife and I both, good credit...and yes, that does matter.

Either you're getting raped or I'm getting a deal.

I pay a total of $86/month for full coverage on an '08 Matrix and a '13 Odyssey with American Family.

I've had Geico for at least 15 years and love them.  When my truck was stolen and crashed they fixed it NO problems and when I didn't like an aftermarket part used in the repair [side mirror] they had it replaced. When I was sideswiped by a uninsured driver [same truck] they fixed it, when it was stolen AGAIN $1500 damage done, new door locks and new steering wheel lock they fixed it. Never had a problem getting a hold of them, all done over the phone guy was always polite and spoke great english. What more could you ask for?
We also checked USAA's price this year for a comparison and Geico was cheaper.

I was with GEICO for years and years. Never filed a claim for anything during that time.

My son (who was living at home and insured with another company) got a DUI.

GEICO cancelled ME because he lived with me and they were afraid he'd drive my car.

That's fucked up.

If you can qualify for membership, then you need to go with USAA.  It is flat out the best insurance company I have ever dealt with.  Disclaimer:  I worked as a USAA Policy Service Rep for six years.  The philosophy was always do what is best for the member.

Government Employees Insurance COmpany

You wont be able to get that rate once they run your SSN. It's a hook. Worth a try if you have an hour to kill though.

A couple of years ago someone hit me. The investigating officer wrote her a ticket a mile long.

They were insured by Geico.

When my agent read the police report they suggested I get a hold of the Geico agent and if they would take care of me like she thought they would I would not lose my good driver points.

HOLY SHIT!

INSTANTLY things started happening. They sent me to the best body shop in town and all hell broke loose. An unasked for rental car showed up at my door and I got calls just about every day reporting to me the progress the body shop was making.

Best dealings I ever had with an insurance company.

I just got a quote from Esurance.  They only want half of what I'm currently paying Liberty Mutual and Esurance is offering more coverage and more payment options!

Progressive... their name is no coincidence.  Stop giving your money to huge democrat donors.

I use State Farm.  The only company I know of that will not use lowest bid third party parts to fix my car.  They only use OEM parts.  I don't care if I might be able to get a lower price elsewhere.  I totaled a Ranger a couple years ago, and what I got from them as a settlement shocked my friend who is an adjuster for USAA and his wife who worked (at the time) for Geico..  You get what you pay for.

Geico cut my car insurance from $1100/yr with AAA to $400/yr. I am at a loss to complain....

Had Geico for about 4 months now - they had the best rates by far of anywhere I checked, but I also don't have much coverage on my 2001 beater. So far so good, minus the anti-gun stint they had about two weeks after I bought a policy.
Link Posted: 4/25/2013 12:33:19 PM EDT
I got Geico when I shopped my insurance and found that the company I was with was ripping me off, Geico beat them by 2K, a couple of years later my Daughter got in a accident and they gave me no problem, paid fast, very helpful, very smooth. Rates went up a little the next year but still far ahead of the last company.

Been using Geico for 15 years now.  I've had no problems and I've had to deal with tons of fucktards hitting my car.  Geico is always willing to go after the other guys insurance and they always deliver.  Only claim I've had denied was when my car was broken into.. it wasn't really denied, I just decided it wasn't worth the effort since I chose to have a high deductible and it wouldn't have saved me much money to have Geico pay for some of it.

My family has used Geico for as far as I can remember with no issues.

Safeco auto rates are hard to beat right now.

ETA: They were purchased by Liberty Mutual a few years ago, if anyone is concerned about their financial backing.
