I would build my own car before I had to buy/use one of those.
If I had to rent a car and they gave me one of those, I'd walk. |
lol. Most of Americas quality expectations are pretty darn low. Look at what Dodge, GM, and Ford have been marketing. Crap and folks keep buying it. |
I'll pass and get a GM car I can get fixed at any GM dealer and not have to worry about it breaking down.
IMO stuff from China, excluding weaponry is, -cheap(do NOT confuse with inexpensive) -disposable -could be easily breakable and not reliable. Cars shouldn't be the above, except they should be inexpensive. |
if anyone here buys a Geely and admits to it, you should be banned from AR15.com!!!
bah, it's allright. and I'm out for the night. |
That's their sporty car from a German Auto Show, this is what they are bring here I think : |
My prediction:
They'll sell like hotcakes. Americans like anything cheap. |
How's it do in the quarter? Not so good? Well, better luck next time. I'll pass.

GM is already selling a vehicle here with a Chinese made engine. |
That doesnt look any worse than the interior on my Wife's Chevy Slobalt. Which, by the way, has been back to the garage numerous times, for everything from the radio not working, to the paint coming off, along with a few mechanical issues. |
Is this some kind of a joke, or double entendre? This guy know ANYTHING about Chinese history or are they trying to tell us something? |
I will never buy one. Its bad enough that the cars we have on the market already have a great deal of their parts made in China, I certainly don't want to give any more of my hard earned cash to the number 1 national enemy of the United States (perhaps tied with Iran for that "honor").
If I have to get an asian import car I'll probably go with a Honda or Toyota. If I get an import from Europe Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari (hey, a guy can dream can't he?). |
lol Have you looked under the hood of any UAW made car. Most of the parts are from somewhere outside of the US. They are just the folks that slap it together. UAW may have built America at one point but it's going about their business to killing America. |

No its ther copy of the trooper |
No... it's an Isuzu Rodeo which was also sold as the Honda Passport. |
AHHH!!! my bad... Brain fart.. Yeah, rodeo..... |
That was all I needed to know about this bunch. wganz ¶ |
No, it's a Chinese SUV the Jiangling Landwind |
Predictions:
Years 1-4: Absolute crap. Years 5-8: Passable quality, roughly comparable to Hyundai or Kia. Years 9+: Indistinguishable from Toyota, Honda and Nissan, but sells for 25 percent less. |
Kinda cool looking? The car has fuckin' nostrils. |
No different from Toyota, Honda or BMW.
Hating anything American and sending American dollars abroad is the trend. |
The chicoms just steal others designs and ideas then make shitty copies.
Keep right on buying all that chinese shit, our dollars are building their empire. |
that is fawkin hilarious!!!!! First they try to pass the Honda PAssport off when it was nothing but an Isuzu Rodeo and now they try to market it a third time... Hilarious. images.google.com/images?q=isuzu+rodeo&svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&start=20&sa=N |

I would say it is different. My cousin works at a Toyota plant in Ky. Honda has a plant in Ohio and BMW has the 3 series plant in South Carolina. |
What a selective memory we have: Ford F150: |
I'm sure if the Geely is successful enough they might build some assembly plants over here, depends if it is better than their cheap labor at home. Now if we could just convince Norinco to build a US assembly plant |
Not much different. The profits go back to the respective foreign countires, and a higher percentage, since they arent sharing as much of the pie with ther neo-slave labor. |
Chinese companys that make these are staffed by near-slaves. Will not be cost effective to build here. |
Saw a Coleman generator today with a Subaru engine. |
The others that came here found a way to pay Americans (much less) to build cars, the Chinese will too. And the others found a market full of people who hate American products and companies, and think one wheel is so much better than another, meanwhile financing the third world. This market is ripe with the above and I predict they will be very successful. I will go one step further and say I bet more than one Arfcommer will own one in short order of their debut. |
It will make the trips to Wal-Mart less expensive. |
GM and nearly all car companies problem is what? And based around what? Labor and the cost of and related too. Who do we thank for this problem the union. UAW specificly. I do not believe unskilled uneducated moron who works one station on an assembly line driving the screw on successive cars deserves $25+ dollars an hour + free insurance + free gym membership + pension + god knows what else for doing a job any non-retard can do. I just do not see what they bring to the marketplace for that price which is passed to the consumer. Product quality is certainly no better. Also I think unions are generally corrupt and usually support socialism a failed model. Fuck the union, and deregulate and free the market to manage itself. However I am not saying let them off the hook for what they already committed too. |
If they bring a good product to market why not? For under $10K you cannot expect too much, but the Chinese occasionally turn out gems, their guns are great for the money. I just reminded myself of the $250 MAK 90 I passed up a few weeks ago now I am depressed |
I believe that is an older model and the newer ones are fixed. |
This coming from a guy who admits to owning a Fiero. |

The fact of the matter is that American auto makers have been asleep behind the wheel for waaaaay too long. It's 2006 and we are just starting to see American sedans being offered with 4 wheel drive... Sorry, but the retards dropped the fucking ball. The AMC Eagle was a flop, and either the lack of good engineering or just being too afraid to make a poor marketing decision cost the Big 3 dearly... fucking retards. Will I ever buy an American car? Maybe a 1980 Vette will sit in my garage, be worked on for many years until I have perfected it... Other than that... it's all poorly built trash. Ever American car I have ever owned was pure fawkin trash... and they can't even sell that trash at a reasonable price because of labor costs. Kudos to foreign auto makers in beating us at our own game. |
