Last night I passed a gas station that was selling gas for 2.87, that is the lowest I can remeber for a long time. Anyone remember when they have seen it lower than that?

This. I remember it all to well. Throw $3 in the tank and cruise around town all night.

25 cents a gallon for ethyl in the late 60s.
Link Posted: 11/2/2013 6:49:34 AM EST
I meant recently as in the past 8-10 years since gas really jumped up.

$2.99 here. I'm happy to see it, but I think $2 is too much.

I remember 19.9 during gas wars in the '50s.

Currently $3.579 for Shell, here.

Wasn't it around $2 at the end of 2008?
Link Posted: 11/2/2013 6:58:38 AM EST
Texas average this week is $3.08. It was $3.05 in December last year.

The average hit $2.87 in December of 2010.

Your memory is quite short.

Don't worry! I remember reading here about how much gas prices have risen during Obama's term, and how it's all his fault! The average GD gas price memory is less than four years!

I paid $2.99 last weekend in VA. Gas in still $3.48 here across the line.

I was paying 89¢ gallon in 2003 or 2004. $3.25 now.

I started driving in '97 when gas prices matched octane rating. We're a long way off now, but I'm happy to see prices falling.

Yes, you may recall a commodities collapse which occurred around the time of the financial crisis.

I know you are being tongue in cheek but it blows my mind that there are people out there who actually believe that.

In 78 I used to put $2 worth in my dads jeep to bring the level back to where it was before I drove it??.

in 2008 before the Kenyan took power I was paying $1.69 a gallon in NY, The Kenyan always said he thought we should pay what the euros pay for gas & he meant it, now the sheeple think less than $3.50 gal is a great deal!
Fucking Amazing how all these W haters are happy now!

I am not in favor of government regulation, but I think the same should be done with gasoline as it is for natural gas/propane/city water.

Those prices don't fluctuate as greatly, and liquid gasoline/diesel for our automobiles and machinery is just as important for the USA as a whole, in my opinion.

What about electricity? Is that any more, or less important to the American way of life, compared to liquid gasolines?

Please, provide something constructive. Totally irrelevant and pointless to call someone's join date. So if I may retort:

08'er, LOL

This is a perfect GD-ism. In 2008 before the election the price was at it's record high of over $4. It dropped to below $2 after the election. There's plenty to blame Obama for, and plenty to blame W for, but gas prices really aren't one of them.

But GD would never let a little thing like facts get in the way of the Obamahate.

Aside from the purely executive branch obstruction in refining, the mandate to put ethanol into gasoline, and the embargo of oil from Fed lands promulgated by the Federal government against the American people, sure. You're absolutely right. They had nothing to do with the price of gas.

Rack/wholesale pricing right now for the north eastern Ohio area is around 2.40-2.50ish.

Add 52 cents for taxes and another 7 cents for freight and margin.

Where people are getting hosed.

Friday's cheapest rack price was 3.05. Add 56 cents for taxes and then your freight. Yet my local gas station is at 3.89 still. Fuckers.

And the gov has a lot to do with fuel prices, really. Regulations regulations regulations.

So what is everyone paying now in December, 2013 - And where are you located?

Paid $3.85 for 93 octane today in Portland Maine

87 octane was $3.65

$2.84 per gallon right now. I've filled up as low as $2.68 about a week and a half ago.

Hell, I remember 60 cents back in Texas...

Over here it's $8.32 on the economy, $3.69 if you are .mil with an AAFES gas card. No more regular, only premium fuel in Europe.
