I've considered a weber after recommendations off of here. Very well built though a slight bit higher than your budget. But l tag this again since these threads always get interesting.

Weber - Mine has been great for well over a year. I have had some new grills not make the one year mark due to rust / started to wobble beyond repair, cheap parts .

You will stop using your charcoal grills if you get a nice gas grill. Then one day, years from now you will cook on charcoal again and wonder why you ever gave it up.

What you should do is go to your local library and get the latest issue of Consumer Reports magazine that has a test of these things in it.
They test dozens of grills from all price ranges. They use accurate and scientific methodology and measurements, so there's no guesswork involved. They are impartial, and have no axe to grind. IIRC, their last test showed a particular grill, which got their "Best Buy" rating, to be superior to grills costing hundreds of dollars more. |
