The wife and I went for a walk today and stopped by a house down the block that was having a sale. I've always wondered about the place and wanted an excuse to check it out. There are sometimes duce and a halfs parked in the back yard and other interesting things.
The guy was sitting outside and said everything in the house is for sale. There wasnt much that caught my eye except for an SKS stock. Then I saw a pile of hunting camo and dug through it, at the bottom was a fragmentation jacket, size large for $20. He took me out to his shed to show me some workbenches. I saw one that I wanted for a reloading bench. After I told him what I wanted it for, he told me how he just sold all his shooting stuff and over 14 rifles and handguns, a gun safe, and over 2K of 7.62X39. I wish I would have known about that sooner. He asked if I knew anyone with an AR. I told him I had a couple, so he goes into a room and comes out with a box of 17 new mags, Okay brand LEO marked for $5 each. I bought them all. So did I do ok?  |

Wow, that guy must be on his last legs and didn't want his stuff going to the cutting block

They're worth $12-15 each.
You did good. He's no doubt an interesting character, considering he likely obtained them while the ban was still on. Of course, he may just have had an FFL. <shrug> |

$85 bucks for 17 brand new mags that would retail for $185 plus tax....I'd say that was worth stopping in for right there.....

He didnt say how he obtained them, but he did say he was selling them at gunshows during the ban for $10

Did he tell you why the "everything is for sale"? Hope he wasn't going to the pen for 50 years or so. Kinda odd for someone to be selling everything he owns.

I had to hang the jacket up in the garage. There are some funky odors coming from it. That's why the cat was so interested in it.

I stopped by today to pick up the workbench and he had 2 Universal Inds. Div. 20rd mags for me for $2 each. He said he'd let me know if he finds anymore. They're well used, but I'm sure they'll function fine.
