I had today off and basically to myself. I shoveled the snow, showered and headed out- went to a local gun store and scoped out some toys. I had them pull out one of the 5 Nighthawk Customs 1911s they had in stock- it was SWEET. Slide-to-frame fit was excellent. Maybe one of those will follow me home some day!

I also hefted quite a few rifles of various configurations... All of which were crying out to be purchased and taken home by me. My observation: Why is it that even if you have one (or more) of X type of firearm, the ones at the store look and seem better? I picked up ARs of the same configuration as mine and still thought "I'd like this!"

ah well, now I'm home- gonna pop me a Moosehead beer and watch the Red Wings tonight. Life is good.
