I watched it, interesting how they make the M16's.  I'm guessing the CNC machines engraves the rollmarks as well as serial numbers on the lowers

I could be mistaken, but there was one guy on Tech stuff that was a fighter pilot. I  think that was him.

Is he former Air Force, though?  That would explain it.  He would be up on all the AF high tech gadgetry, but a little bit lost in the world of the 11B.

He is about a fucking nerd.

I think Hunter Ellis from the History Channel would offer a manlier host.  He portrays a much more knowledgable presence as well.

If it's Ellis what's-his-face, he's a former Navy F/A-18 pilot, as he says every 3.5 minutes.
He lives up to the old joke;

"How can you tell if a Navy pilot is in the room?"

"Don't worry.  He'll tell you."

How many Navy pilots does it take to change a lightbulb?

One.  He holds it up and the world revolves around him.

what I found interesting is that 1. they QC the trigger by dry firing the lower w/o the upper.  They DID let the hammer hit the lower every time :(  2. did you see the groups that the "machine" was getting --horrible!  Guy says that they are 4moa out of the box.  that sucks.

The hosts is not exactly skilled as a TV show hosts, it's a new gig for him. I'm sure he'll get better as the show goes on...

He probably meant to say the M16s must meet the military specification to pass (a maximum of 4" MOA). I was also kinda surprised at that high of a number.

When they were testing the accuracy, the TV monitors shows the groupings. It looked like the TV screen is zoomed in, so it's easier for them to see the groupings. I think the outside circle was 4 MOA on the TV screen, so the accuracy was probably between 1-2 MOA from the looks of the one they tested? The circle is harder to see in this poor quality video, but on the raw video it's easier to see.

The host is a West Point graduate, it was mentioned in the first episode. I assume he served in the Army after graduation. He makes occasional references to having used this or that back when he was in the service. I agree though, he does come across as more nerdy than military.

my guess is to keep the anti's from protesting them?
Maybe they use the military channel as a source of info rather than the internet because if it's on TV it must be true!

That trait is what got Hunter Ellis voted off Survivor first also.
