A Paulding County man has filed a federal lawsuit after he was denied permission to carry a gun onto U.S. Army Corps of Engineers property.

David James and GeorgiaCarry.org filed the suit Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia alleging violation of James’ Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms.

there are rules about guns on DOD and DOA property...that were meant to keep firearms out of "Secure" areas..it has been applied to areas such as waters ways with little thought to the original intent of the law.

I hope he wins

Looks like he's got a good shot. I don't understand why the ACE doesn't want to allow guns around the lake. It's stupid.

There's already a temporary injunction against the Corps on enforcing the rule from January. Apparently, the Corps didn't get the memo.
