Metro police closed a major road and locked down two schools in Hermitage Wednesday afternoon after reports of a shooting in a nearby neighborhood, but there may have never been any danger.
A section of Andrew Jackson Parkway was closed, and Dupont-Tyler Middle and Tulip Grove Elementary schools were locked down.
Police said Bryan Strub, 24, reported a home invasion.
When police questioned Strub he told officers the people who broke in were 3 and 4 years old.
The SWAT team went into the house and confirmed no one was inside.
Strub was accused of shooting a shotgun inside the house, but no one was hurt.
Strub will undergo a psychiatric evaluation, police said. If it's determined nothing is wrong, Strub could face criminal charges.
