A long time ago I was hanging out at a bar with an enlisted buddy of mine.  we were celebrating because I had just finished OCS.  My friend was wearing his Alphas I think and a couple of Marines walked up to us and started chatting.  We told them that I had recently graduated OCS and it turns out that they were officers... They offered to buy us a round of shots but insisted that we do "Marine" shots... I agreed because they had ordered stoleo and asked for salt and lemons... how bad could a lemon drop shot be???

After we got the stuff, the two officers gave me an HOORAH and a congrats and then to my shock and dismay snorted the salt, poured the lemon juice in their eye and then downed the shot!!!  Well, I wasn't going to be out done by these old timers and afterall, I had given my word that I would do it their way, the "Marine" way... so I hiked up my skirt and did it... after that we drank some beers but those officers had a smirk on their faces for the rest of the night...

I think in hindsight I now know that there is no "Marine" way to do a shot and these two officers really got the best of me... oh well, so much for my initiation into the brotherhood...hehe
