Nice job. Why didn't you do the hand guard or buffer tube?
I'm a rattle can kind of guy. Spend $20 on a few cans and can paint any scheme I want. When it gets messed up, oh well, 5 minutes to respray some. |

I wish you'd done it all.
Not too bad tho and it looks like you did a good job with the parts you did. |

And if my sister calls me crying you can bet I appear pretty quickly, usually in a little cloud of smoke and brimstone, or maybe that smell is cod? ~Aimless

I left some parts black because I like contrasting colors. A lot of my rifles are two color themed

View Quote Oh, i forgot I only had like a half a can of gunkote leftover from another project. even still, i probably wouldn't have done any more. The hand guard is carbon fiber and I wouldn't want to put it in the oven. I might change some of the plastic parts FDE down the road. |

I think you did a good job with it. I personally prefer the inverse of what you did (I'd do handguard, buttstock, handgrip, mags). That said, I think it was applied well, and looks better than before.

when you paint the barrel...how does it handle the heat?
+1 for the thread...may do the same. |

I like them black.....wait a minute, guns.

how well does Gun-Kote hold up to moving metal parts under tight clearances? I had a couple of Remington 700 actions/bolts done in Gun-Kote, and it started wearing off of metal-to-metal contact surfaces after a dozen bolt manipulations. I wanted to like it, but I wasn't very impressed.

But man...dress up a little. It's church, God dammnit. And this is an Atheist talking. If I can dress up for a God I don't even believe in, so can you.

Nice job on the rifle. You should try camoing with the airbrush.

It's definitely much more durable than spray paint as a easy way to color the surface. |

I would have just degreased everything well. It is not necessary to remove the park and anodizing if they were in decent shape, they make a good primer.
