What happens if the SHTF after another "assault weapons ban" and you're pretty much limited to Fudd or post-ban weapons? What firearms and weapons would you use for SHTF?

Conditions:

*No "assault weapons" and Class 3 and Title 2s
*Assume no grandfather clause
*No high-cap (>10 rd) mags

Garand

[Last Edit: 11/30/2007 6:24:13 PM EDT by DK-Prof]
Would a Garand or M1A qualify? Because I'd go confidently into pretty much ANY situation with either of those.

Otherwise, I think a Winnie 94 is a pretty useful KISS weapon.

Steyer Scout or a Winchester 70 in .308 Win

SKS.

The M1A would also qualify I think, but I think that it could get in trouble with the detachable magazines in case of a really broad ban. I think that it is more likely to qualify as an assault weapon in the future.

Boy... that sounds like life here in lovely, crime-free Cook County.

SKS
.357 or .44 levergun
Garand
8-round shotgun

16" DSA FAL and one of my 1911s.

what--you really think I'd turn in my guns if a ban comes?

I don't want to hi jack your thread but are you assuming that many of us let them take our weapons with out a fight or that many of us didn't hide them? If the shit hit the fan I think wether or not your FALs magazine is welded to the receiver is gonna matter much. Or if you defended yourself with a banned weapon.

To play by the rules though I would say a Garand would be the best battle rifle.( I'm assuming that the M1As detachable magazine wouldn't pass the ban, regardless of pistol grips or flashiders.) One of those Remington pump 5.56 rifles would be the best carbine. Or a 16" barreled SKS.

You're right. I am assuming that law abiding gun owners WILL turn in their guns because...well...they're LAW ABIDING.

Not that I support turning in our guns, but actions speak louder than words.

Even though it's a bit of an abomination , one of those modified shorter Garands (sometimes incorrectly called "tanker" Garands) in .308 would be kind of cool - if done properly.

SKS, Mini-14 etc. will all probably be classified as an assault weapon next ban.

Lever action 30-30 and a .22lr for me in that scenario.

I'd get one from that new company, I think their name is "Black Market"?

Those that don't learn from history are bound to repeat it.

See what happen to these Law Abidng sheeple.

I assume that everyone who says they will ignore any future gun laws and bans already have unregistered machineguns. If not, their principles seem odd and inconsistent to me.

I hope you mean sheep where you say LAW ABIDING. The law of the land is the Constitution. It forbids such legislation, just because 520 odd fucks were able enough liars to get into office doesn't mean what they create is LAW. If something they spawn is not based on protecting individual rights it is not LAW, it may be considered legal, but it is nothing but a cobble stone on the road to tyranny.

Ruger Mini 30, if those are banned I'll take a M1 Garand.

If they ban all semi-autos I would go Lee-Enfield type SMLE or No 4 . Old painless taught us all a technique to fire a Smelly fast as can be.

The current world record for aimed bolt-action fire was set in 1914 by a musketry instructor in the British Army — Sergeant Instructor Snoxall — who placed 38 rounds into a 12" target at 300 yards in one minute

I think you misunderstood who I consider American vs. Euro-brianwashed-PC-Sheeple trash

A "scout" #5 Jungle Carbine. Very fast bolt action with lots of power. Quick to reload with stripper clips too.

It even has a light mounted for night use.

So you are implying that you do own unregistered machinegun - because you don't just "bend over and take it"?

Obviously, I'm not trying to get you to admit to a serious felony - my point is just that I'm be pretty confident in wagering that you DO NOT own unregistered machineguns, which means that you DO in a sense "bend over and take it" when it comes to gun bans.

I hope this doesn't sound like a personal attack or me being a complete asshole - I'm just trying to make a logical point.

Those things kick like a pissed-off mule - and that retarded hard rubber "butt pad" only makes things worse!

In principle, I love my Jungle carbine - but in practice I don't particularly like shooting it.

I wish I could afford a machine gun...

So your background and impression of Americans is that we are criminals if we express a core belief in freedom and rights given to us in the Consitution.

See that, that is the differance in what made America free and Europe and Canada the socialist mess that it is.

Is that a trick question?

Because if there is a new AWB the S has HTF.

We know plenty of people have unregistered machineguns and have ignored the various bans state and federal.

Lee-Enfield. One of the Ishapore ones in .308 because .303 ain't as common as it used to be.

Mosin-Nagant, because ammo is all over the place.

Remington 870 or Mossberg 590A1, with both buck and slugs on a bandoleer.

Or more likely my AR. I'd have lied about my EBR because I'm not THAT law abiding....

Remington Model 7600 .308 winchester with OEM mags, aftermarket 10-round mags and see thru scope mount with a leupold 3.5-10x40 riflescope. It would fit perfectly with my Fudd special model 870 12 gauge shotgun. I also currently own a remington model 700 PSS in .308 winchester caliber so that would give me two rifles chambered in the same caliber which would be a help from a logistical standpoint.
