They printed an interview that he gave in 2005.

Pretty interesting. He called out politicians in general for being fake and not knowig about the issues that they legislate.

And the playmate is smokin' hot.

You kidding me? It shows that he is not a stuck up as others who teach about 'family values' and has no problem talking to the other side.

Whatever you use to justify it, I guess.

Ever hear of Jimmy Carter. Didn't hurt him and remember he ran as and got the born again vote.

I don’t see how he could be any more pissed than after the 60 min. interview last week in which Thompson stuck Dobson in the eye with a verbal pointy stick.

Blond, brunette or black and tan?

It's not Jeri, is it?

I may have to pick up that issue to "read the articles".

Awesome.

That is a firm FUCK YOU to the "moral majority."

It pretty much shows that he is his own man and is not pandering to a particular voting block whereas Ghoulmney are focus-grouped, polished turds.

Libertarians don't wish to ban porn or really care to demonize it generally.  Remeber that do not impose thing?

The difference being that Jimmy Carter's base wasn't already fragmented against him and his opponent was someone that the country viewed as being a bumbling idiot who was a hold over from most corrupt politicians since Boss Tweed.

Carter made Playboy and was made President.  (His 'Lust in ones heart' line made the papers all over.)

Uncle Ronnie was also interviewed by Playboy and was later elected.

Going by past history Fred's chances of becoming President just rocketed past most of the others.

Interviews with Playboy had nothing to do with Reagan or Carter getting elected.

Carter won because the nation had just gotten rid of the most corrupt politician since Boss Tweed (Nixon) and replaced him with someone that the entire country viewed as being a moron. My Dad's perception of Ford was that they guy couldn't walk two feet and stay upright. On top of that the country was heading into a very bad recession. There couldn't have been better conditions for Jimmy Carter to run under.

Reagan won because Jimmy Carter completely tanked the economy, was scared of the Soviets and stabbed the Shaw of Iran in the back which led to the Iran Hostage Crisis. Again, Regan ran under perfect conditions.

Fred on the other hand is running under the banner of a party who started an unpopular war at a time when we are heading into an economic downturn and he already has a large chunk of his base that isn't happy with him. The deck is already stacked against the Republicans and on top of that he isn't showing any energy right now. Fred needs energy and unity. Appearing in Playboy (if anyone really notices) is not going to help him solidify his base.

Interesting, considering Gerald Ford was an All-American football player while at Michigan.

That is true, but he was always tripping over things. I remember one news reel where he is going to shake someone's hand and trips over a cable or something. Then there was the incident where he fell down the stairs getting off of Air Force One.

Personally, I think he had one or two incidents where he tripped or lost his balance and the media (Saturday Night Live) blew everything out of proportion.

Heck, there are days where I'm constantly    bumping into or tripping over things, and I was a three-sport athlete in college.

So?  Bush the First threw up on the Japanese prime minister.  Doesn't mean that he was constantly hurling on every leader he met.
